What the win means: Alabama is all but guaranteed to play in New Orleans in the Sugar Bowl, no matter if Oregon or Alabama is the No. 1 seed. Who it will play - TCU, FSU, Baylor etc. - remains to be seen.
When Alabama is pushed into the ropes in the third quarter, it came up with yet another big-time drive. Mizzou cut Alabama's 21-3 halftime lead to 21-13, putting the pressure back on the Crimson Tide. As it did vs. Mississippi State and Tennessee, Alabama marched back to steal the momentum again.
Lane Kiffin called a great game. Just check out the opening drive and the drive late third-early fourth to go up 28-13. Great calls. I've charted this offense all year and I'd say that those two drives were probably two of his 10 best. Even better, Alabama set the record for most yards gained as a team - with at least one more game left to play.
How about a day from QB Blake Sims: 23-27, 262 yards, 2 TD. Most important, Zero INT.
Xzavier Dickson one of the true unsung heroes on this defense. Four QB hits through three quarters including a couple drive-ending pressures.
Alabama continues to struggle with the deep ball. Two Maty Mauk miracle heaves for 50+ yards helped keep Missouri in the game in the second half. Those two plays set up 10 of Missouri's 13 points.
Amari Cooper hauled in plenty of catches, but Mizzou did a nice job of not letting those turn into huge plays. Midway through the fourth he had 12 catches (an SEC Title Game record) for 83 yards.
Missouri: 23 rushes, 41 yards.
Derrick Henry was yet again Alabama's bruising finisher. He ran over the Missouri defense, putting it into submission.
