-It's been 1,098 days since Nick Saban held his official press conference as head coach of the Tide. In your wildest dreams, could you have imagined we'd be where we are today?

-Julio Jones has 18 fewer catches and 350 fewer yards than last year, yet the offense has improved in both total offense and scoring offense (2008: 35th in scoring, 63rd in total; 2009: 25th in scoring; 32nd total). Credit goes to McElroy and guys like Maze, Peek, Hanks, and McCoy for creating other threats in the offense.

-I had a daydream that a random philanthropist offered me a ticket to the game, and all I had to do was get to Pasadena. That window is still open, BTW. ;)

-I still can't help but reflect how fortunate and spoiled I am that all of you have waited 17 years between opportunities to play for a national title, and it happened in the first year of my Bama fanship. I'll enjoy the hell out of it.

-Our secondary might be the worst unit of the defense, but they'd be the best on 90% of the defenses in the nation. Wooddall and Barron have been fantastic in the middle, Arenas and Jackson have done an awesome job outside, and you can't say enough about the progress Marquis Johnson has made since last season. It will be exciting to see what they do to McCoy and Shipley after the front 7 start turning up the heat and forcing the Texas offense out of their rhythm.

-Hearing Saban mic'ed up on Sportscenter for a practice a few weeks ago was hilarious. "They don't build 'em like they used to, holmes"

I'm looking forward to a party late into the night and early into the morning.

Great post, man! I knew we'd eventually get the ship righted under Saban, but I'm going to be honest and say that I didn't expect to get back to being such a national power in such a short time.

Also, maybe you're a good luck charm for this team since this is your first year! :td:

The only thing I can think of I didn't expect is to be sitting here thinking about two SEC regular seasons without a loss.

One conversation I had yesterday with a rival fan got me thinking. In all seriousness, do you realize that our third string running back next season could easily be better than the starters for over half of the other SEC teams?
