🏈 Quinton Dial shows KaeperDICK how to NOT be a douche..

Kudo's to QD for stepping up to hold the flag.

When you say how our Vets are treated...say more to that. I'm curious to hear (er, read) your opinion on this.

Having to sit and wait and damn near beg for disability claims and other help when a soldier comes back from fighting a pointless war with PTSD... that kind of treatment. THAT is spitting in a vets face, not refusing to stand for an anthem. Maybe if people got as rialed up about how many of our vets come home to nothing, no job or become homeless, something could or would be done.

Feel the Bern, amirite?

Hell no. I'm libertarian. The first of many erroneous assumptions in your post.

KaeperDick is a douche and a cock face, not because I'm projecting or defending.

:skeo:

Im a PATRIOT, and I LOVE this country, despite its flaws.

Never doubted that. The problem is that you're doubting the patriotism of dissent.

KaeperDick speaks of white opression, yet he himself is half-white, adopted by rich white parents. Hipocrisy, much?

Not at all. Bi and multi-racial people are often discriminated against just the same. He has already explained that while he has at times experienced mistreatment based on his racial makeup, HIS PROTEST ISN'T ABOUT HIS STRUGGLES BECAUSE THEY ARE MINIMAL COMPARED TO OTHERS. Why do you bring up accusations of hypocrisy when he, as a privileged person, is reaching out to those less privileged??? That's not hypocracy. That's called solidarity, and it's how change is made. Otherwise, all you're left with is less-privileged people trying to advocate for themselves which goes nowhere.

You're committing the very problem which exacerbates race relations in this country: NOT LISTENING TO THE GRIEVANCES OF OTHERS. Do yourself a favor and actually listen to him.

He has become irrelevant as a QB. And in his demotion, while making 10s of millions I might add (such oppression!), he is simply attention whoring by race baiting.

Another problem: when you can't deal with the arguments and issues presented by others, you pretend to know their motives and deploy Red Herrings like "Well, he sucks as a QB anyway, so we shouldn't listen to the merits of his arguments."

So, I don't hate him because he is the poster child of everything wrong about the intent of freedom of speech. Your right to say something doesnt make what youre saying right. He is in the same boat as flag burners and flag stompers. If yhe is so disappointed in this country, then he can GTFO, and take Whoopi, Rosie, and Obama with him. He is NOT affecting change by bringing awareness. He is nothing more than a has-been that's trying to keep his name relevant.

I see you're still in tantrum mode. I'll let you be.

All that aside, thank you for your service.

You're welcome.

Great job QD!!
As for Colin K, I guess my only real issue is this. You have these rights BECAUSE of what sacrifices other people made for you. You are a professional athlete that does have a platform from which you can be heard and seen more easily than the everyday Joe. Why not do something more productive for your belief besides taking a knee, wearing a T shirt that glorifies a dictator ( Castro), wear a pair of socks that a 9 year old might wear, etc. Take some of your millions and go into an inner city neighborhood or an inner city HS and set up a scholarship program for youth or some other type of educational opportunity program for at risk kids. I believe Lebron James has set up a scholarship program at his old HS to the tune of $100 million since he went into the NBA.
He just comes off hypocritical when he uses the word oppressed or oppression when his background doesn't. Now if this was some athlete that had a similar upbringing like Rolando McClain, then I believe more people would likely have a different opinion. I only use Ro as my example based on his upbringing. I'm sure there are many more with similar situations that have achieved greater success.

But he can argue that he is using his platform for that purpose, something he feels is an injustice (whether you or me or anyone else agrees). And in his defense he has donated a ton of money, there was just a story not too long ago that a big portion of his salary this year is getting donated.

But the part about his upbringing really bothers me, i keep hearing people bring up his upbringing and how he was privileged because he was adopted by white parents, by saying that you are pretty much admitting to being white being a privilege.

:agree:LOL, nice observation. Basically a self-defeating argument. Nevermind the fact that we don't know what kind of experiences he had before his adoption.

He's doing nothing about it though musso. Him kneeling during the anthem is doing what exactly? Everythung going to change due to him taking a knee? He simply wants to look like a trailblazer, yet he doesn't want to get on the ground and work for it. Anyone can run their mouth, but he is a far ******* cry from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Yes, he does come across as a spoiled little bitch. And the problem with this comoany is that he whines and cries about equal treatment, yet he's not willing to give it by respecting the others that fought for this privledge. Spin it how you want, but your continuous defending of him just points to more holes in your views of this country you fought for. Can't believe you want it shamed like this by a guy that's never dealt with barriers like the ones he's speaking if and the ones you out your life on the line for.

Doing nothing?
Colin Kaepernick donating first $1 million of salary this year to community organizations

Again, you too are ignorant of this issue and will benefit from actually ... listening ... to ... him. Begin with the above interview I shared. He has stated that he has more plans in the works beyond what Birdman has already told you.

Let's be clear ... now you're attacking the efficacy of his methods, which is altogether a different argument. I'm not claiming to know how to fix things, but at the same time, as a libertarian, I defend all peaceful actions, particularly those in protest of government injustices. Besides, it is never productive to criticize what others are/aren't doing to make the world a better place. It's hard enough to determine if we ourselves are doing everything we can do. We certainly can't judge others because we don't know every detail of their circumstances.

I'm not defending him in particular. I don't know where he intends to take this and what causes/organizations/individuals he will eventually associate with as he moves forward. I'm merely, at this stage, defending him and others for peacefully and silently protesting the state of affairs in this country. As someone very fluent in the history of our country, I can say that this is a very modest and conservative gesture.

Hah, you bring up MLK Jr. Well, he claimed to be a man of god while supporting radical positions often described as anti-American and socialistic. He also practiced and advocated civil disobedience and was despised by the majority of the public. Now we have a holiday for him. All Colin is doing is not rising to his feet for the anthem. How's that for perspective??!!

No, he sucks as a QB and saw an opportunity to plunge himself into media-manufactured race "problems" to keep his irrelevant name in the spotlight.

I guaran-damn-tee you that if he was still starting and actually doing something productive on the field, he wouldn't be attention whoring with these shenanigans.

Those two can't even begin to be compared.

Lmao at the effort, tho.

What's being compared is their message, which is essentially the same but resonates with different audiences.

Another way to look at it is the "glass half-empty vs half-full" argument. Both perspectives are technically right. Privileged communities see the flag and hear the anthem and immediately think of America's lofty ideals. Oppressed communities on the other hand immediately think unmet ideals and injustice. Both are right, but both need to be understood by the other. To be so upset at the peaceful and silent actions of others indicates an unhealthy level of brainwashing.

Go play the lottery while you're on a roll.

Which ones..lol Black panthers, black lives matter, ISIL.. those are the ones he speaks out for and that his girlfriend and he support and follow. My guess is that is where it is going.

I am going to step back from this conversation for now. Arguing patriotism, veterans rights and morality with a couple of liberals has proven to be pointless over years and years of experimenting. When your idea of right and wrong is spoon fed to you by CNN you have no brain to truly contemplate facts and have no morals to truly understand right from wrong even if you did.

In times where the public view was drastically different, you cannot even begin to compare the age in time. King walked the streets and made a difference while putting his life on the line and ultimately losing it for the cause. Ole Kap will do nothing of the sort. I'd bet my life that this guy will do nothing more than use the media to his advantage and not get on the ground floor to make a difference. Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James are going about this the right way. They aren't belittleing an entire group of people (soldiers) and degrading lost lives to get their point across. Birdman is all lip service and simply oogles the Liberal point of view while simply being angry 102% of the time, so you'll have to excuse me for simply ignoring his stance or words. Either way, continue to spread your wisdom, but I think you'll be pleasantly disappointed in the end when it's shown Kapernick never takes the next progressive step.

He needs to stand up and show respect for what people much braver than his radical Islam and black panther supporting a55 (cowards). Many men and women and their parents have made the ultimate sacrifice so that he can make millions of dollars to suck as a nfl quarterback.

He disrespects me and every veteran by his actions, while he openly supports organizations who murder police officers and that mass murder innocent civilians all around the world. Don't defend that loser!!.stand up for the men who deserve it.

I do however agree with you about taking care of our vets.

Im a veteran... I still serve. He's not disrespecting me. Hell I work with individuals that run inside when retreat is about to be played. Not once have I seen anyone run outside ready to stand and salute. But yet those same military members are "outraged" by his actions. meh.....

His protest hasn't affected a thing going on in my life. Except for the constant news coverage about it. I find it funny that there is more outrage over him not standing than there is for the reason he's not standing.

Wow, so many in this thread who claim to be able to divine the future. You too may want to go play the lottery.

When your idea of right and wrong is spoon fed to you by CNN you have no brain to truly contemplate facts and have no morals to truly understand right from wrong even if you did.

Going to step back from the conversation, are ya? Not before you resort to name calling, incorrectly assuming my political affiliation (after I've already refuted someone else's assumption), assuming my preferred news network (again, you're incorrect), and accusing me of not understanding right from wrong.

God speed to you and your petulance.

In times where the public view was drastically different, you cannot even begin to compare the age in time. King walked the streets and made a difference while putting his life on the line and ultimately losing it for the cause. Ole Kap will do nothing of the sort.

THAT WAS MY POINT! King was far more disruptive, impactful, and as of yet, radical in his stances! Yet, he's a hero now. Colin is being persecuted by you guys for doing FAR, FAR less than MLK Jr.

I'd bet my life that this guy will do nothing more than use the media to his advantage and not get on the ground floor to make a difference. Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James are going about this the right way. They aren't belittleing an entire group of people (soldiers) and degrading lost lives to get their point across.

Again, you didn't listen to Colin's interview. Your accusations are worthless without first listening to him.

... I think you'll be pleasantly disappointed in the end when it's shown Kapernick never takes the next progressive step.

Like I keep telling others in this thread, go play the lottery!

As is often true in almost all debates, seldom are issues understood or felt the same. That alone has started a lot of wars. Half of our audience is basically commenting on the right of free speech, the other half are more upset with the subject being discussed. Hardly the same debate. So, as is our custom when we are left with just our personal opinions, there's always more heat than light.
