What month did you learn that you were to get season tickets for your first year in TIDEPRIDE? That is to say, what month did you move off the waiting list?

i wish they would tell how close a person is to maing the list, at least once they are in the top 100. Seems like i have been on the list since the shula years and still nothing so always buy my season tickets from ebay

I got lucky. I bought season tickets through a friend one season and he offered to let me have them from then on. So I called the TP office and told them that he offered to let me have them and the lady said if you want to to go ahead and pay your TP membership, I have two tickets (in a better location) for the same price. I have since moved twice and have been in my current location for 6 years. I have been extremely fortunate.

I got on the waiting list after the MSU game before Shula was fired . I did join the A+ Club and donated 750.00 to the University which gave me some points ( did this to move me up the waiting list ) and it worked I got this email May 6,2010 and got the official letter in the Mail on May 7th , 2010 .

Dear TIDE PRIDE Waiting List Prospect:

We have great news for you! The south end zone expansion to Bryant-Denny Stadium has provided approximately 2,000 seats to be offered to the TIDE PRIDE waiting list. The TIDE PRIDE wait list is sorted by length of time on the list and will be offered, at this time, to the first 1,500 people.

Since you fall into this group being sent the option to purchase TIDE PRIDE seats, you will be receiving in the mail an official application form and letter explaining the process of getting seats for the 2010 football season. All seats being offered are in the Century Club ($130 per seat per year) and are located in the east upper deck sections of U4-AA, U4-BB and U4-PP.

Please review the application form and return it to us by the deadline of Wednesday, May 19, 2010 if you are interested in purchasing season football tickets. There will be a limit of two tickets per person due to the extensive waiting list of 16,000 customers. All seats will be assigned on a first come-first serve basis by the date the application forms are received back in the TIDE PRIDE Office.

If you do not receive the official application form in the mail over the next week, please feel free to contact the TIDE PRIDE Office by email tidepride@ia.ua.edu or by telephone 205-348-2262.

Congrats there Big Daddy.

I tell you, that "you now only can have 2 tickets" part really steams me. When I inquired, THEIR instructions were to fill out a Waiting List application. THEIR form required me to specify how many tickets I wanted, with four (the case for me) being accepted. Had two been the limit, I could have afforded to include higher priced levels within the list of those that I wanted to be considered for. Had I known that they would breach the terms of the agreement that THEY created, I would have had my wife to put her name on the list behind mine. Then my family could attend a game together.

As it stands now, when my name comes up, I will have to sell my tickets and buy four together. If I have to buy four off the street anyway, why take the welcome the added hassel of buy seats that I will not sit in.

Anyone have thoughts on how to approach this? Anyone want to talk me down off the ledge?

just called and inquired about my app. been on the list since pre-Saban. Can't remember when i applied. OR reember if i actually did. One call confirmed that i AM on the list....but they would not tell me exactly WHERE on the list. So i sent them an email updating my contact information just in case.

@ Bigdaddy

"All seats being offered in the Century Club ($130 per seat per year) and are located in the east upper deck sections of U4-AA, U4-BB and U4-PP. "

130.00 each ain't bad at all. but how much are you required to donate to get them? I have no avertion to giving money to the school..... I'll hash it out of the buget some how.
But if anyone has a idea how this works i'd be thankful. I know there's a brochure with the club amounts listed somewhere. i just can't find it.
If my company will ever take off......

Anyway if i'm following this right.....260.00 + donation amount ???? will get you season tickets for the year? home & away? or just home?
The TP member i was getting mine from every so often was having to pay dues to Bama & Miss St. (had a Daughter fall to far from the tree and was cheering over there so he had to buy season for both schools OUCH!!)

the TP office did confirm that they're done for the year. :-( and that they usually mail out in April.
So to those of us who didn't make the list this year....better luck next season.

my 2 tickets were 375.00 for each seat , + 130.00 donation for each seat , 20.00 service charge , total 1030.00 for 2 seats to all home games . You get away tickets based on how many tide points you have , I won't have enough to get them.

Noting the content of the e-mail BigDaddy received from TIDEPRIDE, I am confused. I wrote them an e-mail naming myself as one of the many on the list who 1) needed more than two tickets, and 2) were offered that as an option by TIDEPRIDE. Still the reply was that the move was to "accommendate" us and to get as many new memebers in as possible.

Its pathetically elementary that both assertions are wrong, which leads me to wonder as to the reasons they twice cited it. Was it flawed reasoning (and math skills) or some other hidden motive that led them to mislead BigDaddy and I?
If the need is for 4 tickets, and 2 is not 4, then 2 does not further the quest for 4. The "maximum" number of new bodies that you can bring in with 2000 tickets is...NOT 1000.

And what to make of the fact that they are keeping the 14000 still on the Waiting List in the dark by not telling us that they are changing the terms after we have spent years on the List? Calculating deceipt, or inconsideration in mass?

Where in all this is anything that would make the University proud, becasue I'm not seeing it.

Once you get your seats and you start to attend games get to know the people around you that are Tide Priders. I have 2 seats (since 2001) and go with a buddy, my wife, or one of the kids. But once a year I take the family and buy 2 seats from a Tide prider nearby or trade out games. One year I got the 2 seats behind me for MSU and traded my Ole Miss seats. Hope that helps.

My donation is $120/ seat. So $20 donation per year. Then I buy the season tickets ($375 each seat). It comes out to $990 and then they charge a fee for UPS shipping. Thats only home games. At my club level I am not entitled to SECCG or AWAY. I have gotten bowl tix in the past, but not for BCSCG. We bought those via stubhub.

They are limiting the number to 2 per person I would imagine to get more people in off the list. If they allowed everyone to request 4,6, or 8 they would not be able to allow as many to come on in. I see your frustration with needing 4 but only having 2. I have been in that boat since 2001. Even being in TP I have tried numerous times to get mine increased to 4. Like I said above I have a wife and 2 kids and now the kids are at the age that they want to attend.

They wont be able to ever make 100% of the fans wanting to get season tix happy. They also wont be able to stop these jerks that buy a season ticket package and just sell them on ebay/ stubhub, or whatever at ridiculous prices.

Thanks RTiGA. That's really makes me feel better. Its sad that I now have faith in the strangers around me more so than in the professionals.

It occurs to me that once they start down this path, there is no good way to change back without angering again those who were previously denied. If that becomes the case, "pairs" will become the rule that everyone will have to work around, meaning that no one is accommedated. 4 together will become next to impossible to find.

THAT IS MY BIGEST GRIPE! If your not going to the game then why buy the seats for anyother reason than to profit? It ruins it for others who would attend. Hell i gave away one of my tickets to the tulane game @ the gate, becuase Darein was supposed to go with me but his mom coudn't get him to me in time. So...i just gave it away.

So far i have yet to hear back from the TP Office about my status on the list or if my contact information has been updated.:swear:

I got a call last year in late August (actually week before VaTech game) asking if I was interested in 2 more Tide Pride. They were located in a section right by construction that they originally thought would need to be a buffer zone. I really don't know that there is a method behind their madness. It doesn't make sense to not be able to tell anyone where they are on the list.

That's what gets me Sandra. While I was ~5,000 on the waiting list, TP was asking you if you want more. Now its a sin to offer more than two.

Its a tough spot they're in, but they should choose a stance and stick with it. Either you have a means for a family of four to attend a game together or you don't.
