🏈 Question about the Saban leaving rumors (No, I'm not perpetuating--it is bogus.)

As much as I appreciate an arbin's fan concern for our staff, I don't think he is going anywhere. Funny that you bring it up just in time for the end of the season before we play you guys. But I'm sure it's genuine concern for us. Soooooo, go back to your team's board and report that nobody is biting and you guys try to figure out another route to take Bama's eye off the ball, as far as kicking your asses. It's coming, my friend. I would be concerned about your own coaching staff. Typical barn crap.

How are your literacy skills? Let's review the initial post, shall we? In the title I actually reference the fact it is bogus. I'll break that down for you. When I said (No, I'm not perpetuating--it is bogus). That means I did not put any stock into the rumor. A simple question as to whether you all were aware where the hell it is coming from. There are several people here that are "in-the-know" so I was curious as to whether anyone knew where this particular rumor came from. The Google search I also referenced only turned up information on a Cowboys forum from 2009 and a Tennessee forum, also from 2009--which I also referenced. I heard the "info" from an Alabama grad I work with this time around.

So again, let me clarify--I am not stirring the point or trying to get you guys to "bite". I cannot help but laugh at your "figure out another route to take Bama's eye off the ball" statement. You honestly think the players, current coaching staff, etc. give a damn what fans on a message board think? You should probably get out more, my friend.

It was a simple question which several of your fellow members took the time to answer and for that I thank them. For the rest of you, I will assume the a normal conversation will be lost on you. It is absolutely absurd how important members of a message board think they are. I assure you, nothing that takes place on any forum will have an impact on any program.

That's a rumor that has been going for a while. I don't put much stock into any "Saban leaving" rumor personally. Not that I beleive that Saban would never leave, because he could. I'm not dillusional like some of our fans that seem to think Tuscaloosa is the center of the world and no one in their right mind would ever leave, given the choice. Saban could leave, at some point. Most coaches leave at some point.

Having said that, I think Saban is in that point of his career where he knows it's going to soon be time to take a perminent vacation from the business. He's set right now, entrenched, and still at or near the top of college football. It would be hard for him to leave for a better situation in college, and I'm not sure he is looking to take on a project to build from the ground up. So I think it would be hard for him to leave right now.

I don't see him ever going back to the Pros unless it was for some unGodly amount of money. Even then it would be hard for him, considering he doesn't much care for the professional game.

I was one of the many that thought Saban would not be at Bama very long. My opinion has changed--I think the opinion of most Auburn fans has changed, most probably won't admit it. He'd be stupid to leave Alabama.

He'd be even more stupid to leave Alabama for Dallas. He will NEVER have the type of control in Dallas he had in Miami or he currently has at Alabama. If those two had to coexist someone would literally end up murdered in their sleep. Which is why the rumor seemed preposterous to me. He already makes an ungodly amount of money at Alabama and will continue to get raises as the program continues to excel.

I thank you for taking the time to actually answer the question instead of acting like anyone here has any impact for our respective schools.

The rumors come from AU, Tenn, and LSU posters on message boards. He had full control in Miami and left for less money. Why would he go back? Also, why the hell do people choose the Cowboys of all teams for him to go to? You think Saban is gonna for Jones? Hell, Jerry probably doesn't even want Saban after Parcells didn't work out.

My guess is that Jones would not hesitate to spend an ungodly amount of money. That would be where it ends. Jones will want someone that doesn't mind him looking over his shoulder and "influencing" decisions. I'm pretty sure Saban's head would explode if he had a "boss" like that.

Let me assure you that my literacy skills are fine. There is no doubt in my mind that you you did cover your ass with the disclaimer in your title. Second, are you kidding me, thinking that you were the first to make us aware of the rumors? And yes, I don't doubt that you searched all over the internet to try to validate this rumor. Are you really naive enough to think that statments from message boards do not end up in the media when they get legs? It usually goes through the internet, to the radio and then to television if it sells air time.

No, I do not think I am important as a message board member; However, I do think someone wanting to "hang out" here from the barn has an agenda. I'm sure that you are the barner that goes to his Alabama friends' houses to watch OUR game, with Alabama fans, because you all are not on at the same time, in order to guage the reactions/comments. I promise you, I get out plenty, and I would suggest the same to you. You sit on a computer for countless hours, on an Alabama website, and I'm the one who needs to get out more. That's funny.

Where in my post did I attempt to make you aware? Clearly if I'm asking a question about something I assume you already know. As you have yet to have anything of value to say, clearly the question was not meant for you. Assumptions are fun, aren't they? They tend to be more effective if there is any fact behind them.

The segment where he speaks about the fact that "the NFL had changed" since he was an assistant got my attention. If he was unhappy at Miami, I don't see him goin to a Jerry Jones owned team.

As a Cowboys fan, my money is on Bill Cowher getting if Jerry doesn't give Jason Garrett the job.
Saban requires COMPLETE control JJ would NEVER give that to him, Saban knows that..end of story

I agree 100% with you. Jones requires 100% control and I think anyone who has ever heard anything about Saban would understand that dynamic couldn't work. This is the EXACT reason the rumor shocked me and why I asked if anyone had any insight on where it came from. I didn't know if it was one of those things where Jones had offered to make a concession for the "right coach" or whether it was just complete horse sh.. like the rest of the coaching rumors that always fly around.

Somewhat off topic--I'm also a Cowboys fan and I'm kind of pulling for Gruden. He clearly has the itch to coach again. Dallas has two strong running backs and a boat load of talent on defense. The team actually sets up nicely for either Gruden or Cowher. I don't know, I just like Gruden better. I think giving Jason Garrett the job would be a TERRIBLE decision. The offense has absolutely sputtered this year. There is no discipline at all on that team. Look at the number of penalties, dropped balls, stupid plays, etc. I think the entire coaching staff needs to be turned over for any true change to be made.

I agree on all points. The key will be if Jerry is ready to step back and let the coach do the coaching. The only way I see Garrett getting the job is if Jones wants another "Yes" man. I would prefer Gruden myself, I just keep hearing things that lead me to believe that Cowher is high on the list and interested.

Who knows, we may just get another year of Wade!:frown::frown::swear:

How many times does CNS have to say that the college game is where he wants to be? He loves the interaction with the players, helping to not only make them better players, but also better people. He has said many times that is what he missed the most in the NFL.

Most importantly, if Mrs. Terry is happy in Tuscaloosa (and she is), no ones going anywhere...
