🏈 Question about the offense gameplan

Just wondering what you guys thought about if you think or want to see any trick plays this Saturday? Maybe like Sims in a wildcat package with run-throw option or maybe a reverse or something that we havent done yet.

I'm sure they will pull something out that we haven't seen yet. As far as trick plays,I don't want them to stoop down to LSU's level with the trick plays. Mainly lets leave it at hard hitting football.

LSU will try every trick play in the book. that's for sure.

i look for Alabama to do a similar game plan to the NCG with maybe a little less short throws and a more longer pass plays... ala Kenny Bell against state

I suspect we're going to take our shots as well.

Here's something to consider. LSU is certainly strong in the middle of their secondary with Loston and Reid. They lack experience on the corners. We've faced better secondaries this season.

No doubt they will take shots, but it isn't outside their game-plan, they take shots every game. I think the run will be more effective than its getting credit for. I still think the defensive side is where you will see crazy stuff if they do something different. They will get in LSU's QB head, use ball control on the offensive side and beat em square in the mouth.

I hope LSU runs the wildcat, and end around plays. :biggrin_blue:

Blake Sims at QB, Yeldon at RB, Amari Cooper at WR... Yeldon does a flea flicker, Amari Cooper takes an end around from Blake Sims, who throws it back to Blake Sims across the field, who then throws it to a wide open Kevin Knorwood. Touchdown Alabama! :td::td:

We threw out of the Wildcat last year, Michael Williams wide open too, but Maze couldn't get enough on the throw (remember he hurt his ankle earlier in the game)...

I just want us to go out there and hit em in the mouth, and take our shots down the field. Roll AJ out to get away from that D-Line some too.

Only added wrinkle we might see from our offense would be to run a few more plays with Blake Sims in the QB spot. Maybe a couple of passes with him. Other than that, I don't see our gameplan changing much at all. As for LSwho, they are going to have to try and get their passing game going with their Statue of Liberty at QB. I see pressures coming from everywhere!! Mettenburger will wish he was still at a JUCO.

...one of the eight INT's on the year came on that play.

I like the idea of that and hope we see it as a change of pace regardless if it's needed or not.

With their speed on the edge and with our OT's/TE's allowing them to release we could have a great deal of success with that package.

I look to see a half of a dozen plays in our passing game that come from our RB's slipping through the LOS and parking in that vacated space. If we can get their safeties out of the box we should be able to get a hunk of yardage a time or two with that.
