This Thursday Porter, Doemasters, and myself will make our annual trip to the Coach's show at Buffalo Wild Wings in Tuscaloosa. It has sort of become something that we set out to do every year. With doing this we always get to ask the first question of the show. I'm always nominated to do it. Doe gets all jacked up on lemonade and gets too rowdy, while Porter, as intimidating a presence he might be, is shy deep down on the inside. Therefore I always ask the question. I have one in mind dealing with recruiting and if he finds it more challenging to land a class like in 2008 where he was changing the face of the program and able to sell playing time, verses now with an unbelievable amount of depth at most every position. Which is harder starting to build the talent pool or maintaining it?

Post questions here, and if you have something better, I'll ask it.

If Mark gets fired at UGA and Coach Smart gets offered the job (and of course takes) it would you try to promote from within the program are go outside????

I'd put it out this way...

"Since we are heading into the meat of our schedule with Penn State this weekend and then Arkansas in another two weeks can you talk a little bit about our "rabbits" defensive package and who's stood out to you this fall?"

It should shed a little light on what he's thinking about Arkansas, specifically. But, he'll talk about PSU a little as well I'd bet.

Just my .02

LBS' NUMBER ONE QUESTION
-- You go to great lengths to define, teach, shape, and grow an identity for an Alabama Football player. How would you define an Alabama Football Fan if given the same influence over the fan-base as you do over your players?

---Regarding Conference Realiegnment and the potential for 16-Team "Mega Conferences", is the SEC better served/positioned in a Mega Conference landscape or under the current arrangement?

---What is the nature of your conversations with Coach Paterno on game days?

---You're known as a coach with a vision for the future. It was reported that upon your first visit to BDS that you commented that a Southern Upper Deck would need to be built, and it was. Please give some insight into your vision for UA Football for 5-10 years from now (i.e facilities, programs, personnel, etc.)

So far, that's got my vote!

Are you sure yall are not worried about him going all Sasquatch on somebody?

I like your planned question rj.

Terry says: Coach, my friend Porter here says he wants a shot at the Left Tackle spot. What do you say?
(Terry elbows Porter and calls out "Stand up Dude. Show him the guns.")

to back up my vote on fans...

SIAP - Letter from Kent State AD to UA

I thought our fans showed great hospitality toward Kent State, especially the standing ovation as noted by their AD.

From Kent State AD:

There probably aren't a whole lot of positive letters to the editor written from the opponent after a 41-point loss to open the season, but I would be remiss if I didn't share a few thoughts following Saturday's Kent State University-University of Alabama football game at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

When our four student-athletes traveled to Tuscaloosa in July, it wasn't a media ploy or a publicity stunt, it was simply to help a community that had been ravaged by the devastating tornado on April 27. Obviously, word got out over the past few weeks, and thanks in part to the Internet, spread like wildfire.

To say we were overwhelmed by the response from Crimson Tide fans this weekend would be an understatement. Our Alumni Office has been inundated with e-mails raving about the hospitality, generosity and extremely grateful attitude the Alabama nation displayed toward anyone wearing the blue and gold of Kent State.

To top it all off, the standing ovation our team received upon entering the stadium Saturday morning gave all of us Flashes fans in attendance goose bumps. It was something unheard of at a college football game, and speaks volumes about the citizens of Alabama and Crimson Tide fans everywhere.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for opening your arms to our players in July and again to our team and fans this past weekend. It was an experience none of us will soon forget, and even more important in this time of extreme negativity, it was a perfect illustration of all that can be right with college athletics.

Another shining example is the fine work that Kent State alums Nick and Terry Saban are doing through their Nick's Kids Foundation. They are making a difference in the community each and every day, and we are extremely proud of their efforts.

All the best to the University of Alabama.

'nuff said.

Now that it is over, Terry, what did you learn for CNS ... other than that he prevents Chicken Pox?

I haven't listened to it...heck, don't even know what question was asked by the group. It's probably mentioned somewhere in this thread... :lance:
