I cant recall our conference ever having this much coaching talent across the board. Saban, Richt, Spurrier, Miles, Nutt, Petrino, Mullen, and Johnson...( Which IMO is one hell of a coach )....I think Brooks is a pretty good coach...his record isnt the best but they are always competative. Alot of experience and smarts in these coaches....I could see most of these guys keeping their jobs for awhile...As for Kiffin...time will tell. It really goes to show how important recruiting is.

Fulmer had reached his peak and was on the way down IMO...New blood needed there....As for Tubby...I think he just lost control of the whole thing and was out of touch....in his prime, no doubt he was one of the best. As for Chizik.....Im still undecided on him...he did a fine job coaching Auburns defense when they went undefeated a few years ago...but his head coaching time hasnt been too good.

I agree on the Fulmer point... no doubt he was on a downward slide, and BAMA's rise had a lot to do with it. As for Tuberville, the Saban hire hurt him (his program) too, but he was still a top level coach. His success against top 10 teams while at auburn was pretty impressive... but the Saban hire just pulled the rug out from under those guys. It just simply wasn't fair.

The SEC has far and away the best coaches overall. It did take a spill here recently with Tubby and Fulmer bowing out. Can any other conference boast of, what is it 4-5 coaches with National Championships on their resume? It's 4 now but was 5 with Fulmer. This is a strong group even with the two questional hire at UT and the Barn.

I'm not as down on Chizik as some. He made a colossal mistake in judgment for an aspiring young coach in taking the Iowa State job. That program is pretty much the Mississippi State of the Big 12. Had he stayed at Texas and been hired as Auburn's HC from there, some might have been unhappy at bringing in a HC who had never been a HC before, but he wouldn't have the black eye that two years at Iowa State would give almost any coach. He does have a little leeway this year, but he'd better show improvement next year.
