With the recent announcements that Gunner Kiel was planning on playing at Indiana and today's announcement from Jameis Winston that he plans to head to Tallahassee it leaves Alabama without a QB commitment, so far, for the 2012 recruiting class.
One fact a lot haven't considered, or just didn't bother to think about, is having a top-tiered QB in this class wasn't going to be an easy pull. It was even more difficult when you have QB's looking at their choices. They all knew we have a battle going into fall camp with two QB's, both talented and highly sought after during their senior years in high school as well. That leaves any new QB looking at sitting for a few years in Tuscaloosa or having a good shot at earlier playing time elsewhere.
I don't have any doubt we'll still sign a QB in this class. I know the staff has been heavily recruiting a few while they were still pursuing Gunner and Jameis.
