🏈 QB Jake Fromm has flipped his commitment from Alabama to #UGA.

well damn... I was looking forward to seeing this kid! Onward and upward then... He's going to have a pretty tough battle to beat out Eason... If Eason ends up redshirting this year and winning the starting job next year... Jake will be screwed...

Playing time didn't look that great for him at Bama either, IMOHO. If Eason's what he's cracked up to be, Jake will move on from Athens in a couple of years.

"She sounds hideous..."

Wasn't his dad basically saying his word is his bond, and that once he committed he was done? I could care less if he flipped, just don't stamp it with words when you want to reopen it.
The story behind how Alabama landed one of Southeast's top quarterbacks

Ultimately, Fromm and his father felt Alabama was the best fit. They were most comfortable with the program’s ability to keep their quarterback upright. Fromm’s father alluded to the hits Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly and South Carolina’s Lorenzo Nunez have endured so far this season. And though they loved South Carolina’s staff, Fromm’s father said he wasn’t confident they would be around in the long run.

And now, on the heels of Fromm’s decision, there is no going back.

“There is no reevaluation,” Fromm’s father said. “This is 100 percent. I’m not going to get into a situation with Coach Saban that we’re taking official visits somewhere else to make sure. That’s not going to go down real well and we’re not going to do it.”
Things have changed in Athens. Sam Pittman is a good line coach.

So much flipping and decommiting going on, now the parents are getting into the act of it. "We're going against my previous word, and the Fromm Family has decided to decommit from Alabama and we will be taking our son's talent to Athens for the next 3-4 years. In the end, I just felt better and more comfortable in Athens when I visited that weekend Jake was playing in the state basketball tourney back home. I will not be commenting further on this issue, unless we decided to flip again."

Don't know, but I suspect the Fromm family, longtime Dawg fans, just didn't like Coach Richt and now that he's not in the way, the pup is going home. Apparently they don't mind going back on their word either.

It also means Jake won't be meeting the president before he graduates.

Might be reaching there...

If that's the way we are going to evaluate the recruitment process, are we going to say that Kirby doesn't mind going back on his word after recruiting many of the kids in this class to Alabama?

Wasn't Kirby in charge of our Georgia recruitment?

If the coaches who are paid hundreds of thousands of dollars are allowed to be mercenaries, why do we blame a kid for wanting to better his own situation when the opportunity presents itself? Kirby did it... Saban's done it... And so on.

I never think it's a positive thing when people don't keep their word... But the recruiting world is 100% business. Trying to upgrade should always be a consideration... The adults at Alabama make those decisions that impact kids on a yearly basis, so I see no issue with the kid doing the same.
