šŸˆ Pruitt officially hired as Alabama's DC (updated title)

A couple of things to keep in mind.

Nine assistants allowed per football team. Kirby is under contract and coaching until the end of the season.

We shouldn't assume Pruitt wouldn't want to coach the defense in UGA's bowl game.

We're about to enter a dead period. So, the fact Kirby has been recruiting Devon Brown for Bama and Pruitt doing the same for Georgia will work itself out. (Those kids heads have to be spinning a bit, right?)

Questions:

More on above: If Alabama is allowed to only have nine recruiters why does Kirby count against Alabama when he's making contacts for UGA right now? How does this not apply for Pruitt?

Who is Jeremy Pruitt's agent?

How is his contract resolved with Georgia? He has two years left worth 2.6 million. The difference between being fired and moving to take another job is pretty substantial.

Opinions:

Evaluation/recruiting: Different guys, but in the end I see it as a wash.

Coaching: Kirby has been calling out defensive plays for a long time. It's a downgrade with potential.

This is a strange contract negotiation, switch/exchange with coaches and contracts. I've never seen anything like this.

I like that.

@uagrad93 Check this thought out. Pass coverage from the linebackers in nickel and dime sets. I could argue we will see an improvement next season and right now Reuben is tied for the lead in PBU's with Fitz.

Looks good to me as well! We could say the whole Smart for Pruitt will be a wash all the way around to be honest. While at FSU, he had a Top 5 defense and while at UGA, he has had a #8 and #13 defense. We could say that he will improve on his UGA defenses with better talent and better position coaches.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Our talent is better than Georgia's and I feel as if we're a touch better than Florida State's. I wonder if it'll be a wash recruiting wise though?

CNS will handle it, but GA defense didn't do very well against us, tenersee & the gaturds Wasn't Pruit in charge of that. Not many points were scored on them in the games they won.

This is what I can't understand. Kirby is now UGA Head Coach right? But, he still under contracts with Alabama? I guess all this will work it self out. I can't see Kirby recruiting for Bama know his team will be UGA next year? That what doesn't make must sense at all to me.

Kirby is currently recruiting for UGA as their HC. He will then come back to Tuscaloosa as playoff preparations start and the recruiting dead period has reached us. Once the playoffs are over, Smart will have concluded his time with us and be full time UGA.

Assuming CNS has had the "youre staying a minimum of 2-3 years" conversation with Pruitt this is a great hire. Again, the important thing about Pruitt is not just his understanding of the defense, but how to implement the defense at game speed.

Could someone please post who the primary recruiters are for uga regarding davis and wilson please ? Cant get to a computer at the moment. TIA

Bo Davis and Tosh Lupoi are listed as the primary recruiters for both Davis and Wilson. Pruitt listed as UGA recruiter for Davis and Sherrer for Wilson.

So with all the dislike for him. Will you stand behind Coach Saban now that he will be part of the staff? this is not to ruff no feathers either, I just was wondering about this.
