I know the game is won and over, but I am still getting those Vol fans who are friends coming up with the Cody should have been penalized.

What part of that don't they get? Even if it was a penalty it was a live ball penalty treated as a dead ball penalty because there was no time on the clock. Even past that we gained possession.

So, even if you want to take it to the nth degree it's still Alabama ball, Alabama win, period.

I don't know one scenario they could create, within reality, that would have them getting another kick.

The clock was at zero, but the play wasn't over until the ball was downed. None of it matters, however, because any penalty assessed for removing the headgear or excessive celebration is treated as a dead ball foul. Since the game ended, it wouldn't have been assessed. Had there been any time left AND Bama was penalized, it would have been Bama's ball moved back fifteen.

You could also see it on the game clock in the stadium as well. I replayed it yesterday just to see if the clock on tv was a second or two off and it wasn't. Lane just crying for no reason, other then that's the way he is.

They need to let it go...

Its a good no call by the refs. For once they let someone celebrate a huge play without trying to impact the outcome of the game.

Bama recovered the ball, no UT guys even went for it. To say you deserved another shot at a FG is just lame and pathetic. A good game was lost by a great effort to block the last play of the game.

Nothing else matters. Cody running to the sideline and removing his helmet did not impact the outcome of the play or the game. Just a young man showing some enthusiasim. A little premature yes! But come on! Get over it, its over.

And its not a defensive penalty. Now if Cody had grabbed the kicker and body slammed him, I can see your complaint.

No just that, but the only players with the SENSE to COVER UP the 'live' ball, were two ALABAMA players. Even if the ball was live, we got the ball back.

The second picture shows exactly why Tenuhsay fans are upset (& why there should have been a flag), but the third shows exactly how there being a flag would have helped them ZERO.

Did the entire Tennessee team lose track of the ball or did they just quit from shear frustration after the kick was blocked? It was a bizarre looking scene after the block.

There is no debate a flag should have been thrown. However, with time expired it wouldnt have been enforced.

No debate IF it were on any play other than the first and last play of the half.

The way I read the SEC comment was that plays where time expires are not eligable for these calls, thus a penety is not even an option. Since it can't be enforce, it can't be called; since it can't be called, its not a penelty; since it is not a penelty, its not against the runs; since its not against the rule, it was the correct call; since it was the correct call. Tennessee sucks...still.

Clock shows 0:00 in the pic. No penalty. Game over. Throwing a flag with no time, after forth down, at the end of the game = no penalty and a lot of crying from Tennassee fans

Also the ball was recovered by Bama. Seriously this discussion should be over with, nothing will change. They can complain all they want. Seems they are taking on the attitude of their coach.
