🏈 Probst gets a new gig

Region 1 has some great teams, but it also consists of just 8 teams compared to 10 team regions elsewhere. Four teams make the playoffs from each region, so they have a better chance. The last time they made the playoffs in 2005, they had a 5-5 record. They were 2-8 last year.

He has a long row to hoe. Good to see his tearful "I'm gonna be a better father" commitment to be near Pell City is panning out. (insert emoticon of choice here)

In Georgia. Probst called the area he's going to as "one of the toughest this country has".

New Job

He ain't lying about that. Valdosta High owns the record for state championships and has been named the best high school team in the nation many times. That has changed to a large degree and more of those students are now going to Lowndes County which has won 3 of the last 4 state championships. Colquitt County used to be a very tough team in the 1990's and won a state championship in 1994.

Propst is a yahoo!! He didn't have any choice, but go to Georgia because no school in Alabama would deal with crap anymore after the fiasco in Hoover!!

Cory

I don't know Cory. People in BAMA like to win football games an awful lot. Even at the expence of education. I have to think that there would have been some schools willing to put up with him if they thought he'd put a few in the win column.

Maybe he just wanted to a change of scenery and a new start?

PorkChop,

You make a very good point!! I think he probally wanted a change of scenery after everything that he had to deal with at Hoover. I don't real know his side of the story. I wonder how come he didn't try getting with a college program?

Cory

Well, I don't know why he didn't latch on to a college team? I'm sure there are a number of reasons though, and like naf said, he might be viewed as a liability. He might could have gotten a job at some small college but you have to remember too though that situations like Gus Malzahn to Arkansas don't occur every day.

Who knows why he didn't get a college job? We could speculate on that for hours.

How about this one, Tim?
