📝 Prince Tega Wonogho news

@PhillyGirl we were waiting to offer once we got him on campus for a visit. Word had been that he was going to sign sometime after signing day. Barners got him on campus before he broke his leg and I'm sure there was just a little bit of negative recruiting taking place.

Did we ever officially offer him? News is reporting it like he "spurned" Bama.

Spurned in quotation marks means you're quoting someone?

@uagrad93 @BamaFan334 made an observation earlier in this thread I found interesting when he mentioned Oregon's Butler as a comparison.

I'm left wondering if he's a tweener—here's why. Butler, is almost as tall as Tega but is roughly 40lbs lighter. Now, at 6'8" he's probably got the frame to add weight with no difficulty. That's not a given.

Now, let's look at what he's stepping into—a 3-4 defense. A 250lb end in a 3-4? I ran across a comment last night where someone mentioned he's fast enough to play safety. OK, a 6'8" safety? (I'm sitting here thinking about the old adage saying if a team is operating under a two-QB system they don't have one. He's a DE that can play safety. Meaning...?)

You'll have to color me surprised if we aren't hearing he's getting a look at tight end.

The kid is RAW to say the least! Regardless of which side of the ball he ends up on, he is a project. I'd say a 2 year project at least! The way Malzahn recruits, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't end up as a TE as well.
