Here and there, I've had some thoughts the last few days about the Gators. I ran across this note on TI this morning.

—Eddie Jackson (bruised quad) was participating in individual DB drills but was not at corner when the secondary was lined up in the nickel package. In his place at cornerback was true freshman Tony Brown, along with Cyrus Jones at the other corner. Maurice Smith was at the star spot. Landon Collins and Geno Smith were at the safeties. The Tide is expected to be in nickel a part of the game on Saturday.

There's a combination we might see Saturday depending on how much rest Eddie needs.

Florida is going to move the ball. I'll be curious to see how we do in red zone defense. UF's Matt Jones looks like the best running back the defense has faced.

It's an offense based on quick decisions. Roper's scheme wants a window of three seconds from snap to ball's in play (IE: out of QB's hands.) The defense, IMO, needs to keep the play in front of them as a top priority and play good on third down.

OH, you guys might remember a conversation @psychojoe and I got into before the season; before fall camp in fact. There were a few others that got in on the over/unders, early point spreads, etc. We all pointed to the early spread and said this was too big...

When the Golden Nugget released their first lines on the Florida vs Bama game Bama was giving 21 to the Gators.

The line is running -14.5 up to -16 now.
