🏈 Pre-game: Alabama to face UGA in National Title game

Also hard for us somewhat normal folks to afford $2,500-$3,000 a ticket. I'd pay face value if I had the opportunity, but when you shoot North of $2,000 you're making it about near impossible for common folks to participate, especially if you're married. This game has become a whose who of donors, big inner city "political" money, and corporate bullcrap. My sister just told me she didn't get tickets to the game as a student (Georgia) and that they only gave away 500 tickets! That's just utterly disappointing if you ask me. Students, alumni, and boosters are the largest part of this, and 3/4 of that equation get pushed to the back.

I went to Pasedena and New Orleans. I can't go to all of them and the Bowl Series has really started to Gouge people. For Georgia this is all new and they don't know when they will be back so they will be in full effect in Atlanta.

But being as it is 2 and 1/2 hours away from the house. I may drive over without a ticket and try and buy one around the stadium closer to kickoff. I am not a candidate for a $1600 ticket but for this game we don't have to have flight, rental car or even a hotel room as I have several friends in Atlanta. So if I can find 2 good seats for $2,000 total I would be game. I paid about the same per person to go to Bama vs Texas. Just saying not having tp pay for flights and rental cars or pay 3 day minmums on hotels makes that $1600 more reasonable than you think.. if you live here in Bama.

Above my price range due to travel expenses, but don't forget this RUN won't last forever.

I've been lucky enough to see Alabama beat Texas and LSU. Wished I'd have went to other two, I will probably regret not making this one a priority as well.

I was lucky enough to go to the Notre Dame game, and that cost me some coin, but I used financial aid while I was a student to do it. Growing up a Georgia fan, I was unsure if I would ever see one, so I took the first opportunity I could, even if it meant the cardinal sin of using financial aid as my crutch. Paying for it now, but will never forget the atmosphere and being able to enjoy that ass whooping. Went to the game by myself, but enjoyed high fiving everyone around me and goofing off. Closing on my new house in less than a month, so I will then be cashing in my trip to Death Valley soon, and will definitely make a go at other Championships if we make them.

This one couldn't have set up any more perfect, until Georgia won. I am currently renting in Athens, so it would have been an easy ticket, cheap drive, and back home for me. But noooooooooooo, the freaking home team that hasn't come close to sniffing a title in 35 years has to make it and killed the market.

75/25 Georgia is my guess unfortunately. We are spoiled and they are hyped.
The allotment for Bama tickets is greater than 25%. Normal seating allows for 71K--schools get 20K a piece. I don't know the corporate number for the remaining 30K seats. I'd assume it's probably around a third of those with the rest going directly to ticket brokers who already have block agreements in place with the Peach Bowl ticket offices.

Boy, Kirby must have blown Fromm's dad pretty good for this write up...

Maybe this is the truth, but it sounds oh too perfect to be 100% factual, especially now that we're here in the National Championship midst between Alabama and Georgia. Just sounds played up.

Jake Fromm's decision to flip from Alabama to Georgia was a 'no-brainer,' his dad says

Read over on the rant about this and one poster put snippets of the dad's quotes from when he committed to BAMA.

Ha Ha, that's pretty funny. Yeah, Fromm's dad was just waiting for his 15 minutes of fame it seems. Good for the kid though, glad he's getting to play and faring well, but his dumbass dad had to know old quotes would come back and make him look like an idiot.

The timing of that article is terrible...
It's actually a retread from an article in 2016.

Now:
“The story keeps getting spun that Kirby was the recruiter at Alabama, and he wasn’t,” Emerson Fromm told 247Sports. “Kirby ended up being our buddy because the recruiting process at Alabama is just different.”

Then:
“Kirby said he wasn’t necessarily going to try to steal him from Alabama, but at the same time, we’re going to talk and not just give up on Jake,” Emerson Fromm said. “It’s interesting how there was very little contact after that from Alabama. Kirby was our point of contact there.”

If I'm Kirby, I'm tailoring my game plan to Ohio State vs Bama 2015. OSU had a stud RB (Zeke) {Georgia has 3}, 3rd string QB {GA Freshman} and a solid D vs Bama QB that wasn't a great passer.

OSU D put the ball in Sims hands and he threw for 2TDs and over 200 yards. He also threw 3 picks and carried ball 10 times for 30 yards. Yeldon carried 10/47 and Henry 13/95.. sound familiar????

Elliot finished with 20/230.

Game comes down to our QB not just not f'ng up, but making some plays as well.

So you saw the 2014 game vs the buckeyes as a failing by Blake Sims and the offense? Kiffin established 0 offensive running identity all year in spite of having Yeldon and Henry.

The back half of our defense was frankly terrible all year against elite offenses. Meyers watched our defense get torched by a barner QB who directed an offense for over 500 yards against the Tide in that game. He had the blueprint.
