🏈 Pre-game: Alabama to face UGA in National Title game

I know coach Saban doesn't like the quick turnaround for the championship but I have to believe that Georgia likes it a lot less. They traveled the farthest, they played the more emotional and longer game and they are the ones who were taken to OT. I get the reasoning behind a later date, but if anyone is running on a low tank in this one it's the home team.

I agree, but Georgia flew the team home immediately after the game to save time. Bama's team didn't come back until the next day.

Najee's one reception was pretty nice, too.

Hey, I'm all for it. Use all the RB's, they're all super capable... But ultimately it needs to be a strong Harris in the 4th, and a game plan that doesn't put more pressure than necessary on Hurts. With the exception of the late game passes, Monday night was by far the most well called & executed plan we've had in big games since maybe Kiffin vs Clemson pt 1.

Mostly I am concerned about those big backs. They really don't have much on the outside that scares me but we aren't super deep up the middle and it will be crucial that we stop their backs for little or no gain on 1st and second down and force them to try and beat our CB's with their wideouts. They have a couple very talented tight ends which, in my opinion, is their biggest passing threats along with Michel when he is the game.

I fully expect a game of screen passes, play-action rollouts to the tight end and a healthy dose of Chubb and Michel. Their defensive pass rush is very formitable which I hope leads Daboll to just pound it off tackle with Harris, Jacobs, Scarborough and Najee and then hitting Irv Smith down the seam.

I enjoyed us swinging it out quickly to the running backs so they could just get outside of their defensive ends. Was working pretty well until they read one correctly and stopped it for a loss. We abandoned it after that. I was hoping we were setting something up where we were going to run a wheel route with Bo or Jacobs.

We did, and Bo dropped it. It was fired in there by Hurts pretty good, but we did try it, and it was open.

Don't really see staying over as any serious attrition on our guys. And Jet lag is real and no matter how much Kirby tells the team they have one more, the emotional and physical BTUs this team burned through the anxiety and wear and tear of a game that was in serious doubt till the end has done what it's going to do. Side by side, I would rather be us.
