šŸˆ Podcast: SEC14.com talks Bama vs LSU with Gary Danielson (roughly 15 minutes.)

I can't get this to work. Do I need to download something?

I have always found Gary Danielson very knowledgable about college football and the games he announces. Him and Verne are a great team and I thoroughly enjoy them every Saturday in the Fall, unlike some people who seemingly dislike them for no real good reason. They enjoy each other, the games, the SEC, and have fun while spreading useful knowledge, so I agree with the folks above, i enjoy Danielson.

His comparison to 2010 was thought provoking...

I caught that! I then went back and looked at some stats and that schedule of theirs. Their defense was pretty damn stout all year long with the exception of the BARNER game that year. Miles played it close to the vest that year much like Coach Stallings used to do here. Play hardnosed defense and make sure your offense doesn't screw it up for you. End every possession with a kick.

@uagrad93 It's such a long time ago I have a hard time remembering what the injury situation was back in '10 before the LSU game. I know we were in the midst of an injury plagued season but to my recollection it was worse then than it is now.

One thing is for certain. We didn't have near the depth then as we do now. We've been hit the hardest on the OL this season and are still doing OK. I think we're on our fifth starting rotation on the O-line IF Cam isn't able to suit up.

One key in that game I do remember? Two turnovers. Which, has been our downfall...

@uagrad93 Off the top of my head...and I know I'll have to look at this in further depth. Fluker was out and we had McCullough on the line. Carpenter, Vlachos, Jones, and Warmack were still playing, as I recall.

I also recall we were shifting bodies out of necessity on the defensive line. We're doing the same this season, out of luxury.

Oh, one other thought/question. Was it '10 or '11 that Jarrett Lee had all the pick 6's? One of those seasons we prepped for a pro-style passing attack and Jordan Jefferson threw the option against us. This season, they don't have that luxury.

@TerryP I pulled it up and it was the '08 season that Lee threw 16 picks to 14 TDs. They list him as the starter for 8 games that year and then 1 in '09, 0 in '10, and 9 in '11. He had 3 picks in '11. Jefferson was listed the starter in the other games.
