There aren't any games on tap this week that will attract anything like the attention that was focused on Tuscaloosa last Saturday. Nonetheless, there are some important ones with respect to bowl eligibility ar bowl placement.

Kentcky at Vanderbilt

The 'Dores once agin played hard but came up empty, though there were some very nervous Gators at the end. Vandy should win fairly easy. Now that Houston Nutt's fate is sealed, does Joker Phillips move to the hot seat?

Vanderbilt 27 Kentucky 17

Louisianna Tech at Ole Miss

Will the Rebel Bears come up with a good enough effort to spare themselves embarassment of losing to a non BCS opponent? The team is obviously demoralized after their embarassing loss last week end. They should snap back enough to win Saturday.

Ole Miss 24 Louisianna Tech 20

Western Kentucky at LSU

It would be natural for LSU to be less intense this week than last, and i don't think they will play with quite the ferocity they showed in Tuscaloosa.Nevertheless, they have a lot more talent than the Hilltoppers, and they know that if they tend to business they will be in NewOrleans on January 9th.

LSU 45 WKU 7

Texas at Missouri

This Missouri team has been tough to figure this year, mainly due to a defense that has been only occasionally good. Texas has found a real running game, and should win comfortably.

Texas 34 Missouri 21

Texas A&M at Kansas State

There has been talk already of the Aggies firing head coach Mike Sherman. A better solution might be for them to hire a co-head coach and turn the second half of games over to the new guy. Bill Snyder's guys roll to another win at home.

Kansas State 41 aTm 24

Florida at South Carolina

This one should be a low scoring affair. Both teams have good defenses, and both have struggled on offense. Only because they are at home do I like the Gamecocks.

South Carolina 24 Florida 21

Tennessee at Arkansas

The anemic Vol offense will struggle to put points on the board this week. Arkansas high powered attack will have no such trouble.

Arkansas 31 Tennessee 14

Auburn at Georgia

The Dawgs can nail down a spot in the SEC CG with a win. All their bad boy running backs have been reinstated. Meanwhile, Auburn is the healthiest they have been in a while, with their two top receivers both being ready to go. These two schools dislike each other, so it will be a rough, physical game. Personally I think that some Malzahn magic will be the deciding factor. In an upset:

Auburn 30 Georgia 27

Alabama at Mississippi State

Before the season started many pointed to this game as a trap game, coming as it does, right after the LSU game. It could be that way, if our guys are still dwelling om why we didn't beat LSU. Our defense won't let up, though, and neither will Trent.

Alabama 27 Mississippi Sate 10
