Alabama starting left guard Ross Pierschbacher is expected to miss two to four weeks with a high-ankle sprain, a source told ESPN.

Pierschbacher suffered the injury during the first quarter of Saturday's 31-24 win over Mississippi State and was unable to return to the field.

Many offensive linemen have been able to return from a high-ankle sprain quickly, giving hope that Pierschbacher could possibly return to play in the season finale against No. 10 Auburn in two weeks.

Pierschbacher, a fourth-year junior, has been a starter for much of the last three seasons.

J.C. Hassenauer replaced him during the game against Mississippi State.

Alabama hosts Mercer this Saturday.

Surprised it was Hass... But Saban has always seen him as a responsible option. Wish we had a bigger dude but I guess at this point the staff see's pass pro more important. I'm sure he will do fine, just can't see him dominating at the LOS.

The barners have been shifting their Oline all season. We have been remarkably healthy as a unit.

You know guys, some of this crap that happened Saturday is an illusion. We didn't have our fastball and had to beat this team with our off-speed stuff. In 2 weeks we are showing up on the plains with our hair on fire. That alone will plug a lot of gaps, just like it did with the barners over the weekend.
