I saw a right hand drive Jeep two or three weeks ago that was being prepped to be put on a dealers used lot. 217K I remember, I can't recall the year. He mentioned it came off the assembly line during Covid so that could be '19 through what, '21, and it's still true? It was used as a rural delivery vehicle but not USPS; like a sub contracted USPS for larger packages only. (Weird how that works around here. A lot is contracted out to non-gov folks.)
It was tempting. The chances of someone saying, "I have that make/model?" I told myself when I was there, "go back, get your phone, take a pic." Didn't. Should have.
I said all of that to say this. In all the years on this earth one question I'd never thought of until seeing that Jeep? Is the shift pattern mirrored or is it the same? I know now.
Never driven one. Did drive a volkswagen in Sweden and liked to never have found reverse. I had gotten to the point I put it in neutral and was getting out to push it backwards when my wife found in the owners manual you had to push down and left of first, if I remember correctly. Had a mustang that had reverse where first is in most vehicles, took off in reverse from a few stop signs when I first got that car.
