This is not my top 24!

I've seen writers and pundits covering college football attempt to separate themselves from the rankings and opinions of the AP voters for college football's top 25.

I haven't seen someone go to this extreme. Phil not only says "this is not my preseason top 24" once, but goes on to emphasize that fact three times: in bold!

Can anyone blame Steele from wanting to distance himself from the likes of Erik Gee, of KNML-AM in Albuquerque, N.M., who picked LSU as the #1 team despite the drubbing they received January 9th in what was practically a home game for the Tigers? Four voted for Oklahoma State, apparently another group Steele didn't want to be associated with.

For the past several years Steele has forecasted the AP pre-season poll in advance and has a 90% accuracy rate so far. While I won't bastardize the word gospel, it's about the best description one could use to describe his word on how they'll vote before the 2012 season kicks off.

The SEC, and again specifically the SEC west, is well represented in this years poll.
