🏈 Phil Steele: Projected AP Top 10

AU may lose to GA Southern the first game of the year if they can't stop the triple option...

Georgia Southern doesn't have much anymore. New coach isn't picking up where Monkin left off and completely wasted the abundance of talent they had last year after making a big splash two years ago. Auburn will handle them easily, I believe.

Clemson at #6? For a team that lost the guy that carried their team, that's pretty generous to me. Lost their running back and best two receivers.
Here's the problem.

You're questioning AP voters and what they are thinking when there isn't a reasonable explanation for several of the teams they ranked each season. Hell, we've seen some of the voters state the reason they voted a team where they were was simply to be different. How they still have a vote is a question you'll have to answer.

At this point in time it does not matter where a team is ranked, no games have been played. Teams may look good on paper but we all know the game is not played on paper. We want to be in the top 4 when the FINAL rankings are released!

So many factors go into a season and we sometimes get the cart before the horse; injuries, players lost to graduation, players not producing, unexpected losses, etc... I always look forward to the season but do not get too worked up over preseason. When does fall practice start again?:rolf:

I agree with you on that for sure. I know most of them use last year's results as a major basis for the rankings, just like SOS numbers.
