| FTBL Petrino On ESPN

I agree with that, but I very seriously doubt it will reach Saban levels. It will make for some talk radio fodder for the rest of the week though...

You're probably right. I kinda think people are becoming sanitized to coaches moving around willy-nilly.

Can the Barn be torn down and relocated in India? I won't care if they lie about it, they won't know where it is anyway, they will try to take the train to get there.

Good thing for Petrino that Atlanta doesn't have a fat pretentious sports radio host with an ESPN talk-show gig on the side.

Well, the satellite sports radio hosts have not protected Petrino much this evening. A couple of NFL insiders were talking about how the Falcon team as a whole have not liked CBP from day 1. They then started equating the Falcon players' attitude toward Petrino with Saban's relationship among the Dolphin team. That's when I turned stations. Had heard enough.

They can't leave us out of it? Wow, this is just ridiculous.

Feel proud

They can't leave us out of it because they are getting their last jabs in now. They know that in the near future they are going to have to say great things about our program and CNS. How we overcame adversity and returned to the throne. They will not have a choice, because we are on the way to showing them.

Heard a Barner say last night that he was happy with the way TT had won so many games and all.

We are fans of a different color and at a different level.

RollllTide!

You cant really blame him considering the fact Vick is a jail bird and he dont have a qb. Plus the fact the Falcoons suck.

I knew Petrino has had a lot of stops in his career, but I didn't realize just HOW many...

1983 Carroll Grad. asst.
1984 Weber St. Grad. asst.
1985-86 Carroll Off. coord./QB/WR
1987-88 Weber St. WR/TE coach
1989 Idaho QB coach
1990-91 Idaho Off. coord./QB
1992-93 Arizona St. QB coach
1994 Nevada Off. coord./QB
1995-97 Utah St. Off. coord./QB
1998 Louisville Off. coord./QB
1999-2000 Jacksonville (NFL) QB coach
2001 Jacksonville (NFL) Off. coord.
2002 Auburn Off. coord./QB
2003-2006 Louisville Head coach
2007 Atlanta (NFL) Head coach
2007 Arkansas Head coach

If you get the opportunity, you should read Pat Forde's column on Petrino this morning...roasted him. Heck, an off the cuff apology to CNS in there as well.

DeAngelo Hall is giving him hell on ESPN right now. Man, I am sooooooo glad to hear that. He is pissed.

I've got no love for Petrino, but DeAngelo Hall is a tool. ESPN knew he would blast him, so that is why they had him on. I'd much rather hear the opinion of someone like Keith Brooking or Warrick Dunn.

Or Vick......wait.

Petrino phoned in his resignation too, by the way.

The dirty has became dirtier

In an interesting twist, Lou Holtz coached the New York Jets for 13 games in 1976. He went 3-10, then left the team with one game remaining to become the coach at Arkansas.

Now thathsss funny.

Some points everyone is missing in all of this when expecting the same vitriol from ESPN toward Petrino as Saban:

1) The Falcons are not the Dolphins in the eyes of ESPN. No matter how sucky the Dolphins are and have been, they will never be the doormat that the Falcons have been in its "esteemed" history. There are too many talking heads on the network that have ties to the Miami area. Petrino leaving the Falcons is analogous to Grobe leaving Wake. Who cares?

2) There is a Big 11 sacred cow without a coach right now that may have to make a similar move (Michigan). Whether they have to throw big bucks at Les Smiles after he gets through coaching his damn strong football team in the BCS "Championship Game" or they have to go the same route as BAMA and Ar-kansas, they don't want to have to set themselves up to be too hard on Meechigan.

3) It's easier to pick on the unrealistic, insane, hated, racists BAMA fan base than it is the poor, maligned, Wal-Mart working class fans that are Hawg fans (just national generalizations....don't get your drawers in a wad!). I wonder why Arkansas gets away with not hiring Croom?

4) BAMA could afford to pay Saban $4MIL and no self-respecting Southern school should ever do such a thing. That is only ok for schools like Notre Dame and Oklahoma so we have obviously forgotten our place in the scheme of things. How dare we expect a winning program!!!

Latest rumor in Atlanta states that Petrino’s friends and family (Paul Petrino, Kevin Wolthausen, Mike Summers…) weren’t getting it done as NFL coaches and Bobby was feeling pressure to replace them. This played in a big role in his decision, supposedly.

Thats a great article. Its also good that all of this has pulled some media attention away from us and CNS and while circus is going on he can be quietly and methodically building up a program for the future.

I have to say that I am very happy for the hogs btw. We know all too well the excitement they are going through right now. For once, I can not think of anyone in the SEC that should be disappointed in their coach. Also, it does nothing but help us to have a stronger SEC West as long as this joke of a system for picking a National Champion exists. The most important thing is to BEAT these teams.

Also, I would like the Arkansas nation to take this oppurtunity to collectively stick their tounges out that the Tommy's and Grobes. Kind of like us with Rich Rod, they wound up with a better coach anyway.

Finally, and most importantly, I have to say that I am about to get sick of hearing how important it is to have a high power offense and how Petrino is so awesome on offense and blah blah Borges. Lets get back to playing power Bama football with a awesome defense!

You have to be able to run the football but creating plays out of the passinf game is a must and to recruit WR's and QB's passing the ball is a must it makes for exciting offense.
