🏈 Penn State names a starting QB

PSU has a veteran OL, and the interior of their OL is very, very good... but our front 7 (especially if Dareus plays), will present some major challenges for the Lions the outside...

A true freshman going up against our front 7 in a night game, in prime time, in front of 101,000? At least the kid has some running skills...

Man, I have been waiting for 20 years to play the Lions again. I still remember that 9-0 home loss to them in 1990. Our D played great that day, but Gary Hollingsworth couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, and our running backs were depleted due to injury. We were scheduled for a home-and-home with them at some point since then, but Shula squashed it. But, alas, it's almost here and I can't wait! Joe Pa will find out quick that this ain't the Bryant-Denny Stadium of the 1980's!

We lost 2 starting wideouts leading up to the PSU game in 90 along with Siran Stacy at tailback. All were lost to a knee injury. Lamonde Russell was moved from TE to WR in an attempt to give us something outside. Don't throw the fault at Gary.

Okay, well, there you go then. Gary played a perfect game that day.

Didn't say he played perfect but don't go blaming one person when the entire unit wasn't at their full strength. That is the problem with alot of people, they see the offense sputter and it automatically falls on the QB. They don't know that 2 wrs and hb were lost to the season due to knee injuries and therefore, young unproven guys were thrown into the fire. By the way, Mal Moore was calling the plays and Coach Stallings didn't ALLOW for any audibles. You ran the play that was called and that was it.

I'm sorry...but what?

Remember, we were scheduled for a home and home with Penn State in 2004 and 2005 and Shula had them replaced with 2 home games vs Utah State? At least that's what I remember hearing years ago. I could be wrong.

Wasn't Shula's decision...that's my only point.

And, it was a decision made from PSU's standpoint we excepted...
