🏈 pass rush

Can anyone explain our lack of pass rush? Wonder why we have not played more of the back ups to keep them fresh. My thought is guys like Dareus(bum ankle) and Upshaw(bum ankle) should be coming out on 3rd & long. We have to find a way to get to the quarterback, Auburn and LSU will be tough to beat if we can't get the offense off the field on 3rd down.

i don't think there's an explanation for our inept pass rush except that we don't have the players to make one right now. we really only have one dominant D-lineman in Dareus. i personally think Nick Gentry has a better pass rushing motor than any of the other guys except Dareus. i wish he was on the field a lot more.

in order to beat Auburn and LSU however, pass rush won't be as important as containment in the pocket. just like Bama did to Tearbow last year in the SECCG.

We are getting a rush on the passer. If it is sacks you are looking for, then maybe we aren't where you would like us to be. Getting pressure on the QB and making him run for his life or throwing before he would like is getting pressure and has been affective.

Yep, it was disappointing that we didn't throw Masoli down more. Then again how could I be disappointed going into half giving up less than 50 yards?! Especially during the 1st half we were causing all kind of havoc for him. He was bailing left and right and sometimes just straight out of bounds. I want more sacks (just like everyone!), but if we pressure the way we did Masoli, Brantley and Mallet in 4th Q I think we'll be aight.

If we gamble and go for the "sack" against Cam the man then he may well do as Damyuene Craig did and just lean one way and dodge a would be tackler. At least for Auburn our goal needs to be to keep Cam behind the line of scrimmage, not to make extra effort and try to take him down with a sack because when things break-down that is when he is dangerous.

I think with the injuries that the these guys are doing about all we can ask for. They have been putting some serious pressure on the opposing QB. With bad ankles though it make it impossible to cut and change directions when the QB runs.
