🏈 PAC-12 Offensive Player of the Year Dead at 19

A gun doesn't accidentally discharge. They don't go off by themselves. It discharges because someone's finger was on the damn trigger or an item got into the trigger guard.

It sucks the young man lost his life in such a senseless way.

The majority of the time that's correct. It all depends on the gun. An AK has that free floating firing pin which has been known to discharge accidently, when dropped, etc. AS I recall some of the older 1911's will whereas Glock is built differently.

I don't mean this to sound callous when asking "what kind of gun?" At 19 years old my gut says if he purchased it that gun wasn't a brand new piece, ya know?

Happened about 30 miles from where we lived in Texas. A few blocks from UNT and a fire department (ambulance).

Just a shame.

According to Denton Police Department spokesperson Allison Beckwith, officers responded to a shooting in the 1100 block of Avenue B at about 9:38 p.m. Friday and located a single victim, an adult male, with a handgun wound to his hip. The victim was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead

Yeah, true. And then that whole thing with the Sig P320.

And the second part: You are absolutely correct in that thinking.
