I came really close to working for him at Eufaula HS when I first graduated. He was all for hiring me for the baseball position and assistant football spot as was the superintendent. The only problem was the principal at the elementary didn't want a coach, but wanted a janitor/PE teacher.

Yep!!!I told the principal that I wanted to coach and that Propst was offering me the HC position in baseball and a varsity assistant position for football and I could see it in his eyes that he was crossing my name off the list of candidates. That was November of '93. I never got a call back, but I called and the principal told me he just gave the position to an instructional assistant that promised to go back and get her degree!
It all worked out though. I was hired at Fultondale HS in January of '94 and stayed until the end of the '98-'99 school year. Moved to the Sylacauga City Schools System that fall and have been here ever since!!
