Jim Kelley's nephew and Cliff Stoudt's son competing for playing time. Good genes.

Before I saw this post I decided to check and see if that was Cliff's son and of course, you are right. He followed Rollie Dotsch to the Birmingham Stallions of the USFL (I LOVED that league!). He was part of one of the most beautiful throw and catch I have ever seen with Joey Jones sailing through the air like Superman. Too bad the USFL didn't live on. It was a damn good brand of football.

Here is Cliff Stoudt versus the Houston Gamblers, led by none other then Jim Kelly. On another note, Billy Napier recruited Stoudt to Clemson.

Rollie Dotsch. Now that is a name I have not thought about in years. I was a season ticket holder.

It was before my time but being a football nerd Ive gone back and watched documentaries and read books (got one really awesome book) about the USFL and then watched old games, and I gotta say it was some really fun stuff. Thanks Donald Trump.

I went looking and couldn't even find a photo, although I know the Birmingham Thrice Weakly News had it in their paper.

Fixed that for you.

My wife tells me that she covers the cost of the subscription by the coupons she gets from it. Otherwise I would have cancelled the subscription.

Do you guys remember the old World Football league, back in the late seventies? Pretty good ball there as well.

We had so many of the football players that went to our church, we moved the mid-week service to Thursday evening so they could play ball on Wednesday nights (when most of the games were played). Denny Duron was the QB and I remember him pretty well. He later was one of the founders of Evangel Christian in Shreveport (Brock Berlin was a product of the school).
