I don’t know if somebody hasn’t wait a minute to take a look over the Tim Williams words after the game. He had zero complaints about how the game was lost because it was so close and everybody worked their tails off, that for such a competitive game, what he only had to say is they won legit. Coach Saban shacked the hands to everybody to only say that they are great individuals and competitors.

But what I just want to say here is like Tide fans look now very frustrated or disappointed with the whole management of the “Lane-out” situation prior the game or the fiasco of the defense to stop DeShaun Watson, and believe me, I know like nothing but win a championship is a failure for our standards, but people only have to think that this is what sports is all about.

Clemson had the ability to run a total of 99 offensive plays when the team usually averaged around 64 per game. I think they got to achieve the possibility to gash the defense on the fourth quarter because remember, they entered the last 15 minutes with just 14 points and I think the defense “partially” contained Watson much better than last year’s won game. Defense played exceptional to me with heart and chip on their shoulders, but Watson was obviously the man.

Cecil Hurt also talked about the usual “what ifs” on their weekly column but I agree that the difference on the game was QB DeShaun Watson whose last efforts evoked to the great ones of Vince Young or Cam Newton. Their defense also is very damn good but Sark called a pretty good game to me, I even think that much more practical that the one’s Kiffin was calling lately. Hurts protected the ball well and the TRUE-freshman even put the leading TD on a clutch drive but the drive consumed not the enough time to kill the possibilities to Clemson for the leading score (the unique moment they caught the lead as Swinney said referencing that “the best team of the nation until the last 1 second to go”). Nobody thought that Bama was able to score 31 points before the game.

I think that people has to calm down, relax and think about what this team was able to accomplish each of these years. I don’t have any doubt about Saban’s process or our vast potential to compete for titles, but there is going to be a time when someone beats you because “that guy” is training very hard for it. Clemson is “that guy” and they definitively showed up, so hats off to them and just get back to work to recover the crown next year. The future is still bright and it’s great to be a Tide fan on these days. Rather lost a hard-fought national championship game than content for the Music City Bowl like the “mighty” Vols.

Roll Tide from Spain!

Great post. Good points... RTR

Crimson glasses on here. we had a plan and did not execute the plan... Clemson had a plan and executed their plan to a "T"! so dropped balls. not hitting receivers, if that would have happened. Clemson would not have even been in the game. so Great season! looking forward to A-day and next season!! Roll Tide Peeps!

Well, speaking of Tim Williams... Hmm, not sure I'm buying this.

Charlie Campbell from WalterFootball.com has reported that Alabama defensive end Tim Williams has “failed many drug tests” and that his serious substance abuse issues are very similar to those of Dallas Cowboys’ d-lineman Randy Gregory.

Sources close to Campbell say that this could have an impact on his 2017 NFL Draft status, putting his consensus projection as a first-round talent in jeopardy.

Per the report:

In the scouting community Williams is a consensus first-round talent, however team sources believe that Williams could easily slip to the second day of the draft. The reason for that is many failed drug tests, and some team sources have said that Williams substance abuse issues are very serious in the realm of Dallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory.

Gregory was one of the top physical talents for the 2015 NFL Draft, but he fell to the second round because of drug problems and repeated failed tests. Sources say that Williams’ issues with marijuana are comparable to Gregory. Three different team contacts all said Williams problems were similar in their severity to Gregory. In late September, Williams had an arrest for carrying a pistol without a permit. Alabama suspended him for the first half of the game against Kentucky as a result, but he was fortunate to avoid other suspensions, as sources say he failed many drug tests. That leads teams to have concerns that he will land repeated suspensions in the NFL like Gregory.

Between 2015-2016, Williams tallied 30 tackles for loss and 20 sacks, making him one of the more feared players at his position in college football and a top next-level prospect.

Bleacher Report draft writer Matt Miller lists him as the No. 13 overall prospect in the draft and the No. 4 edge rusher.

Saturday Down South will monitor this story as it develops.
