The thoughts of BJ Scott AND Javy back there is great. I only say Scott instead of Maze because he would be a much better blocker IF Javy did get the ball.

Only one guy will carry the ball, which means that the other is just an undersized blocker at best. Does the increased chance of getting the ball into the hands of an athlete in space out weigh the loss of an additional legitimate blocker?
With two players 40 yards deep, this would also open us up to more fake punts.
It's not like the additional returner is supposed to move a guy off the line...it's more about re-directing his attach or at least just getting in the way.
Agreed. The return game is as much (or more) about making guys miss in space, than it is about helmet on helmet blocking.

Yes, I do.

I think two can only be beneficial, IMO. Fake punts usually work or don't work, its not much one person can make a difference for. And the difference it might make is MUCH less than the difference of having a great athlete return every ball punted deep. Maze and Arenas would be my bet. Granted Maze can handle punts.
I would have to say that two would be the ideal situation so that one of them could block, granted Javy got a lot of yards last year on punt return i also saw him get nearly none due to having no protection back there...
