🏈 On a side note, SI has gone to crap

I must be late to the game. I haven’t really noticed SI for a few years, then started seeing these quick articles on the “news” on my iPhone.
They suck! Read like a JR. High school paper.
Bama Central, lead by Chris Walsh, has been one of the sites linked quite a bit here. You've probably read SI content and didn't realize Bama Central is a part of SI.

While it's not always the case—largely dependent on content—most journalists are told/suggested to write at an eighth grade level. In your business publications, et. al., it's normally at an 11th grade level. Sports reporting? Consider the audience. There are a lot of sports fans who aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer.

FWIW, SI restructured their model a few years ago. Sites like Bama Central will have paid staff, very few, and rely heavily in volunteer/intern type contributors. Hence, some of their content is WSJ type analysis.

I was mainly referring to the small SI "news" items that I see on the iphone.
These almost alway read like they were written by a third grader, or even worse - Joseph Goodman!
