šŸˆ Ole Miss QB Bo Wallace: We have better receivers than A&M, Rebels will score on Alabama

Come on guys! This is FAR from bulletin board material. (Never mind the fact teams' and their comments don't make it to our bulletin board.)

Bo knows...well, isn't receivers in the SEC.

How off is he? Evans is averaging more than two times the amount of yards per game than both receivers Wallace mentions, combined. He has twice as many TD's, catches more ball per game...

A&M's other receiver, Kennedy, has more TD's this year than both OM receivers, combined, catches as many balls as Treadwell...

It's not surprising they feel they are on the same level as A&M because they are still focused on the scoreboard from last year when they played the Aggies. Sure they only lost by three...but then there's that small issue with A&M having twice the number of turnovers as the score differential...

FACT: A&M and Ole Miss don't belong in the same conversation. We certainly won't have the same game plan against the Black Bears as we did the Aggies...

It just goes to a deeper issue or maybe to an insecurity of modern-day college football players and coaches and that is their cocky attitude. There are no more humble leaders among college coaches, well, except Nick Saban. Saban may have many flaws but being cocky and over confident is not one of them, especially as reported in the media.
I just cannot stand the cockiness of coaches today.

I can understand believing in your teammates but he should have simply said something along the lines of "our guys are great and we faith in them."

Now with that said, and I agree with Terry's assessment, I do worry about these receivers. 3 guys (2 receivers, 1 tight end) over 6'3" and in the 220 lb. range. Our corners have not handled big receivers very well.

Hold on.

Our corners have not handled big receivers very well. Our corners did not handle Mike Evans well.

I would like to know where you're getting your numbers from on their height and weight. I've glanced around just to see what might be out there and I believe those numbers at 247 are inflated. I'd be FLOORED if Treadwell's are right.

Our corners didn't handle ANY of A&M's receivers well... and those are the only receivers we've played that I would consider "big."

And if 247's numbers are inflated then everyone elses are too...

Overall better talent at WR, but it's not like that will magically translate on the field. I would be much more worried if Bo could spread the field with the deep ball, but they use much more motion to get their playmakers in space.

They'll get their points...just not what their expecting I'm sure.

What you consider "big" isn't though. Outside of Evans, neither Walker or Kennedy are "big receivers." 6'2", 200lbs (in A&M's case with Walker less than 200) don't qualify as I see this. A receiver having an advantage of almost a half of a foot? Yeah, there's a size advantage. An inch or two? Meh.

Consider this about those measurements. If what they are listing is true that means Treadwell has grown a little over 2" and gained about 30lbs in the last three/four months. Possible? Sure. Likely? Very slim chance. Heck, when he was at sparq there were many wondering if he would break 200lbs on the scale in full pads AND soaking wet.

Bo don't know Bama like he thinks he does.

Saying he thinks they can score isn't a stretch or boastful in my eyes. Under this staff we've given up a couple of big plays a game in just about every game we've played.

I do suspect Bo's opinion is likely derived, at least in part, on how the Ole Miss team did when they faced A&M last season.

They talk alot about comparing themselves to aTm. I don't think they could be on the field long before the Aggie's score on them. As far as their receivers being better than aTm's, that maybe (I don't know) but their QB definitely isn't! We shall see. I just hope we come out and play with a bit more enthusiasm than we had with CSU. I believe that the only team that can beat us is us.
