🏈 Ole Miss QB Bo Wallace Says The Reporters Who Cover Alabama Are Basically ‘Fans’ Of The Crimson Tide

Before last season’s game against Alabama, Bo Wallace said he felt his Ole Miss offense would be able to score points on the Crimson Tide’s defense. The Rebels’ quarterback said he believed he had better wide receivers than Texas A&M, a team that put up 42 points on Nick Saban’s team a couple weeks prior.

Wallace thought the contest would be close.

He was wrong. Alabama defeated Ole Miss quite easily, 25-0.

Following the shutout, Wallace’s pre-game comments were used in a lot of stories from the Alabama media. To the Ole Miss quarterback, the post-game stories featuring his quotes were an example of how the Crimson Tide reporters are like fans of the team.

“I was just showing confidence in our players,” Wallace told CBS Sports. “They just turned it around as much as they could. Their media is like fans of Bama.”

It’s unfair to collectively label the Alabama beat – a group of likely 100-plus reporters – as “fans” of the team, but there are certainly homers among the media that covers the program. That’s true of the beat at any major school. Some “reporters” have a tough time letting go of their fandom if they’re covering the team they grew up rooting for.

Wallace, meanwhile, might want to focus more on performing well against the Crimson Tide defense, a unit he’s yet to throw a touchdown against.

Alabama and Ole Miss are set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. E.T. The game will be televised by CBS.

I hope so because I bet the reporters that do the Ole Miss games are Miss. St Fans. I can think of a few reporters that cover Bama that not Bama fans.

The dude is not the sharpest knife in the drawer, his bread isn't done much less buttered, his elevator does not go all the way to the top floor and when he was born he thought the doctor said train and Wallace said he would take a long, slow one.
