🏈 OK UTAH YOU GET YOUR WISH!

The thing that bugs the hell out of me about this article, and basically all post game coverage, is there is no mention of the things that happened on our o-line. I can't take anything away from Utah, but you can't be oblivious to Smith's suspension/Johnson's injury.

This morning, for the first time since the Sugar Bowl was over, Todd McShay spoke the truth, IMO. On Mike and Mike in the Morning he SHOCKINGLY aknowledged how we became a one legged man in an ass kicking contest when our line fell apart. He also said Bama would win 7/10 if they played with Smith.

I'm over the loss, believe it or not, but if ESPN and others are going to talk about the game they need to be realistic.

After the bowls, including the BCS game Thursday night, have played themselves out, we have Texas, USC, Utah and the Fla/Okla winner who all can make some sort of claim towards the NC.

What more justification does anyone need.

They keep bringing it! Hell the Barn hasn't cried this damn much! in 2004 and they had a legitimate conf. sched. Did the barn file a lawsuit no! Did Bama file one in '66 and '77 no! If you want to be treated like one of the big boys quit whining!

We hear this crap every other year!... If we had a playoff in major div1 college football they the mid-majors would still bitch and moan!...

It would start out they are so happy and when they don't advance past the second round they would want to play home games in their cracker jack stadiums and say it's not fair! Believe me you can't satisfy these mid-majors! Remember when we get a playoff and we eventually will I said it! JMHO! Play more than 2 hard games a year or don't apply!

Joe mentioned earlier he had heard a guy say we should scrap the polls and have a selection committee pick the teams.

Assuming we were under this scenario, who do those eight teams end up being?

Florida
Bama
Texas
Oklahoma
USC
Penn State
Ohio State.

I'd say those seven would be almost a given.

Now, we come down to that 8th and final slot.

Does it go to Tx Tech, Boise State or Utah?

TTU gets the nod.

Why? Better TV draw for one, better ticket sales following that.

Other teams can complain all they want. I'll listen to them arguments, but can't say I really care.

It's part of life as a college football fan. No matter what system we use, there is always going to be a team and their fan base that feels left out.

Why cant div 1, I mean FBS use the same forumla for playoff that all the other college football divisions use? I know the bowl/ BCS $$$ would never allow it.

Right on the mark and Utah BSU TCU would bitch and moan no doubt! My prob. is they want to be gaurnteed a slot no matter what circumstances and no matter if their sched. is 118 ranked... That is my point you can not appease their fanbase!

I'd have Texas Tech in there, but I don't think I could put Ohio State in ahead of an undefeated Utah team.

I'd have:

1 versus 8:

Oklahoma versus Utah

2 versus 7

Florida versus Texas Tech

3 versus 6

Texas versus Penn State

4 versus 5

Alabama versus USC

Play these first round games as the Rose, Sugar, Orange and Fiesta bowls.

Bamarooski help me understand something please. I don't understand why Bama fans try to belittle Utah? They said they could play with us, they said they would not be intimidated, they said they would control the line of scrimmage and they went out and proved it. They did exactly what I would have hoped we would have done. What is there to make fun of? They are irrelevant to you? How does any team that totally dominates us suddenly become irrelevant? They were/are a better football team than us. Period. All this pretentiousness and arrogance is laughable and embarrassing. It says a lot more about us than it does Utah.

Their SOS is pretty high, partner.

As a Utah fan, I'll chime in real quick on this one.

I think people are missing the point. If USC or Notre Dame had our resume (4 top 25 wins, only undefeated, champs of a decent conference) then there is absolutely no debate going on whether or not they deserve it. That debunks the SOS argument.

There was a sad period in our country's history when people were looked down upon because of the color of their skin. There was racism, discrimination, and bias all based on the color of someone's skin.

This attitude of elitism, bias, and discrimination is similar to what we see in college football today. There are facts to support Utah as a national championship team, but the ignorance continues.

Utah would be champs if not for the fact that it is "Utah" on their jersey. That is the only reason they are not the champs. I'll live with it, I just wish people would stop making excuses and simply say, "Utah, you are not champs because you are not a traditional power. That's it. There is no other reason."

At least then we can stop the charade.

I want to in no way convey the idea that racism is equal to what is happening in college football. Racism was and is one of the greatest tragedies of our country. College football is merely a game. I just wanted to point out that many of the attitudes that permeate college football are oddly similar to the attitude that our country had back in the 1960s and before.

The game would be better if not for the BCS. People can argue money all they want. But the game itself would be purer and more of a joy to watch if the championship was settled on the field. Rant over.
