The Ohio State Buckeyes are certainly not lacking confidence right now. They have moved up to third in the most recent BCS standings, and Urban Meyer has gone on the record saying that he believes his team should be ranked second right now behind only the Crimson Tide. While it remains to be seen if they will actually get a shot to play for the national title (they need one of the two teams ahead of them to lose), wide receiver Evan Spencer believes that if they do get a shot, they will fare really, really well:

Taunting great teams is never really a good idea, but you canā€™t blame Spencer for believing his team can play with the other big boys. Unfortunately for him, the Buckeyes havenā€™t put themselves in a position where they control their own destiny, so they remain hoping for a shot to prove their teammate right.

You'd think a team with such an abundance of confidence would have maybe played some non-conference games that reflected the same attitude. That said, FSU would throttle OSU. And Bama would do it as well, +14.
 
I have to listen to this crap all the time living in buckeye land for the past 24 years. Last time I checked, the ohio state buckeyes are 0-4 against THE University of Alabama. I also believe the ohio state buckeyes are something like 1-8 against the SEC.

I don't mind Spencer believing they can win the game, any player worth his salt should believe in his team but to open his mouth and insert his foot is another story. Just my opinion.
 
^^ If I'm not mistaken, that one win against an SEC school came a few years ago when they beat Arky in the Sugar Bowl.

Only later to have it negated because of sanctions. So, technically I think they're still winless against the SEC.

I'd love to have a chance for Saban send give Meyer another heart attack. Beating Ohio would be almost as enjoyable as that whoopin we put on Notre Dame last year.

Mike, I'm stuck in Ohio too and have to listen to all the blathering from Urban's urchins. All my "friends" rooted for the Dame in the BCSCG because they're tired of Alabama and the SEC. And they're all protestants!
