I can see that. Urban is a great college coach. While his teams did have some off field issues, he is somewhat of an old school tyrant on the football field. That type of mentality never makes it in the NFL. Our very own CNS figured that out. It is impossible to bench a player for not "doing the right thing", when the owner is paying the player twice as much annually as the coach.

In the modern era, I can only think of a handful of coaches that transitioned well from College to NFL. Jimmy Johnson, Pete Carrol, even Dennis Erickson did well. These guys mentioned kind of rain their college programs fast and loose, and they all paid the price after the coaches left the program.

Said all that to say, that Urban's mentality on the practice, playing field will not transition well in the NFL.

Urban is a snake oil salesman at his core. He is a very good snake oil salesman which is why he does have success up to a point. All built on sand so it crumbles around him eventually.
