Oh and don't forget the SEC owns the rest of the country and will win again! Welcome to RTB!
SEC owns the rest of the country? Because from this link/pic it looks to me like the country has spoken, and they think OSU should be playing LSU, rather than an all-SEC title game.
In all fairness though, as a true fan of football, I will say that the SEC has great teams, and defense does win games. Both LSU and Alabama are awesome teams. Are they the two best teams? A strong argument could be made that they are. Has the SEC had great success against Big 12 teams in the past? Yes they have. However, we aren't deciding who should play according to what's happened in the past. How can the BCS computers claim that the Big 12 is the highest ranked conference, but then not allow the champion of that conference to play in the title game? How can we have both opponents in the title game come from the same, lower ranked conference, and to top it off be two teams that have already played?
Not too many people are going to argue that the current system is flawed, and that we need a playoff. Truth is, we don't have it. The only way to decide who is the best is to decide on the field. Alabama had its shot at home, and didn't get it done. However, in the end, Alabama has the tradition and big-school sway that carried the day. You can point to OSU blowing a 24-3 lead against a weak Iowa State team all day, but you're ignoring that OSU has been absolutely dominating all year. Any team can have one bad day, but overall OSU has beaten more higher quality teams, and down here we can't help but feel just a little ripped off that we won't get our shot at LSU, which is the same shot you get every year.
