🏈 OFFENSE-What will it take/what can be done?

Not a fair comparison but it is what it is and they are the opposing QBs; and I consider the separation between this position will be so significant that Clemson should be the 7+ point favorite. If I'm a chicken little, and I hope that's the case, then serve my crow covered in Schitt.

In fact, unplug the panic button from the control board and trash it.

Bama opens as TD favorite vs. Clemson in finale

I'm not in panic mode but I will say this Hurts has to step up for us to win Monday night. Clumpson is hungry and they have the revenge factor.
If we can't score 30 we will go down. You can write that down.

If the offensive group from tonight shows up on the 9th we're going to be wearing our ass for a hat. Defense will keep us in it but lack of execution, penalties, below average play from the QB and miserable play calling against a team with a better offense than Washington will eventually gas them. I don't think Hurts has improved much, if any, in the passing game from USC to tonight but I hope he has the game of his life. I think he'll have to.

Need to knock the rust off for the offense. Kiffin never had a rhythm for the plays. He struggled calling a play and formation, then he was late adjusting, thus false starts and delays. That can and will be corrected this week. The offense is always a little rustier than the defense. Like @It Takes Eleven said, we played it close to the vest offensively, and leaned on the defense. We didn't see the RPOs, Jet sweep pop passes, or screens that so many of you have bitched about on here for 3 years.

Damn people! Be humble! We are fans of a team that has won 26 straight and is on the verge of their 5th National Title in the last 8 years!!!

Thats the negative to this run we've been on... its incredible and has been so fun but man does it ever bring out the fucking worst in certain "fans?" 9 times outta 10 these are "fans" that weren't fans before 2009 and when we aren't winning titles every other year anymore they wont be "fans" anymore...

Clemson is definitely a hungry team. They've had all year to think about how close they were to being champions - they were motivated and prepared.

Our defense came out and played hungry too and saved the game for us. I hate to think that we have to rely on pick 6s and fumbles against Clemson - but we probably have to.

Last year - good defense, good rb, qb who could throw - we barely won.

This year - good defense, good rb, qb who can't throw and fumbles a lot - not looking good.

Flame away.

Quite possibly the Big 10 was really that bad. Ohio State made Clemson look even better than they really are.

Talking about offense though:
Maybe, just maybe - and this is just a thought I'm throwing out there-, maybe Bama, on like first down, could run the ball and set up shorter throws for their young quarterback. You know, like teams used to do in the old days. Now, if you get eleven rushing on first down, you might have to start the sequence over again.

Now this may sound crazy but hang with me. If you keep getting ten and eleven, maybe keep running the ball. I'm an outlier here, but if I keep getting six or seven I might even keep running it. But I'm sort of gambler that way.

Then, get this, and Kiffin probably hasn't thought about this, if they bring lots of guys up after you continue running the ball, you throw it downfield. I bet it would work.

Anywho, Florida Atlantic's coach would probably keep passing until that was proven not to work at all, then try the run. I wish we'd do what Alabama would do and run the ball until that didn't work. I can't imagine how many rushing yards this team might have.

All that said, Saban is the man and this team and collection of players is incredible. We better enjoy this. Alabama has won 26 freakin' games in a ROW!!!! ROLL TIDE!!!

Clemson looks legit, very legit & is hungry.

However, I remember a '92 NC team played a Heisman trophy QB with a 'Bama having Jay Barker at QB, Lassic at RB & a salty, pass rush defense. Our chances are just as good as theirs.

Now if Kiffin will just call a conservative game plan that Gene Stallings would approve (run to set up pass), then I REALLY like our chances.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Look at Stewart's production during the year and how many times he touched the ball yeaterday and you can clearly see what was going in. Kiffin f'ed up, but we also played with vanilla calling. I'm more worried about our guys dealing with this...

You must've missed the Shula and Dubose eras if you think 90 percent of today's b!tchy, dissatisfied Alabama fans are bandwagoneers. What's amazing to me is the propensity for some here to quickly escalate simple, different points of view into parting shot, "FU!" retorts.

Clemson looked unmotivated earlier this season. I don't think they will have any trouble with motivation when they play us. They seem to have made progress as the season went on. We, however, seem to have regressed on offense. Of late, we can't seem keep defenses honest with our long ball. Plus we have had more penalties and missed assignments than is normal for us.

Our D will do better this year than last, but their receivers and QB against our secondary worries me some. I think we need to into full blown blitz mode often and play a running, ball control offense to keep our defense off the field. Just my opinion and worth every penny you paid for it.

If NCS could kick a 30-yard field goal they win @Clemson. The Tigers got beat by Pittsburgh running up and down the field all day and turning Watson over on key throws. By the way that happened in their 11th game of the season, at home, again.
