Oh please lets us play them. We would stomp the dog snot out of them. We need to start a movement after we beat UGA to give UFC as the #4 spot as an undefeated. That would be an easy road to the ship! If Notre Dame lost I would be all for it and i don't think they could keep them out. That would be amazing.

I'd rather not play them... it would be a no win situation. If we win big, we were supposed to. If it's a tough game... it's like we lost. Plus I promise you a UCF team would be hyper focused and they do have enough talent to make it difficult.

If ....If Bama were to lose to UGA then I bet they send UCF to play The King in the Sugar Bowl( I guess that is where we go). Playing somebody that wants to prove something in a bowl game that you don't really care about playing in is a bad thing. See Utah and OU Sugar Bowls.

As long as its in the Playoffs Bama would smoke them. In a meaningless bowl game....I agree they might beat us as our hearts arent in it like OU and Utah....

C. When not hosting semifinals, the Orange, Rose and Sugar bowls (the "contract bowls") will make their own pairings outside the CFP arrangement. Generally, they will take the champion of their contracted conference; if that champion qualifies for the playoff, the bowl will then choose a replacement from that conference.

Orange Bowl: ACC vs. SEC, Big Ten or Notre Dame*
Rose Bowl: Big Ten vs. Pac-12
Sugar Bowl: SEC vs. Big 12

*In non-semifinal years, the following will inform the Orange Bowl's selection of the opponent for the ACC Champion or next highest ranked ACC team not in the playoff:
  • After the Sugar Bowl and Rose Bowl have chosen, the highest ranked available non-playoff, non-champion of the SEC or Big Ten or Notre Dame.
  • Over the eight years, a minimum of three SEC and three Big Ten appearances must occur, and a maximum of two Notre Dame appearances can occur.

Josey, wanted to make sure you saw this. I've seen several get this mixed up in their bowl projections.

As of today, I'm seeing it's the Peach or the Fiesta--both NY6 games. This question comes into play, "do they want the same team in back to back years for the Peach Bowl?" History indicates the Peach Bowl committee doesn't want the same team consecutively. In fact, over the last decade you might find one or two that's been there twice (and that's me guessing it's Auburn or Florida State.)

It doesn't make much senses geographically to see UCF and UF in the Fiesta but things are beginning to point that direction. I'm guessing that doesn't come into play (CFP committee considering distances) and we see LSU vs W Virginia in ATL.

It would made sense to send LSU and WVU to the Peach when all things are considered. Although, sending a Big12 team west makes sense as well.
