•Alabama is outscoring its opponents by 40.2 points per game at home this season, best in the FBS.

• At home, Alabama has allowed an FBS-low one touchdown in the red zone and is tied with Arkansas State for allowing the fewest red-zone trips (5). The Crimson Tide's touchdown percentage (20%) in the red-zone at home also leads the FBS.
Alabama has a 36% chance of winning the SEC, highest percentage for any team, according to ESPN's Football Power Index.

• Alabama is 6-4 against the AP No. 1 team, the best record by any team with 10 such games.

• Blake Sims has converted a first down on an FBS-high 53% of his third-down plays this season.

• A matchup to watch Saturday will be the Mississippi State offense against Alabama's defense, especially on first down. The Bulldogs leads the FBS in plays gaining 20 yards or more on first down (43) while the Crimson Tide have allowed the fewest such plays (6) in the FBS.

• More or less, ESPN's Football Power Index agrees with the College Football Playoff Rankings as 8 of the Top 10 teams in FPI are also ranked in the CFP Top 10. However, one of those 2 teams that isn't is No. 1 Mississippi State. The Bulldogs are 11th in FPI, 2nd-lowest among the CFP Top 10. Oregon is the only team ranked among the Top 4 in both FPI AND the College Football Playoff Rankings.

• Dak Prescott has been responsible for an SEC-high 30 touchdowns this season. On third down, he leads the FBS with nine passing touchdowns and is tied for second with five rushing touchdowns.

• Amari Cooper ranks second in the FBS in receiving yards (1,215) and leads the nation with 22 receptions of 20 yards or more. He has been responsible for an FBS-high 48% of the Crimson Tide's receiving yards.

• Nick Saban compared Dak Prescott to Tim Tebow during his weekly press conference on Monday. "Dak Prescott is a very talented guy in a lot of ways," Saban said. "He's a big, physical runner and kind of reminds you of Tebow in a lot of ways, but he's also a very good passer." Saban did not mean this as a slight to Tebow, but his comments beg for a comparison of Tebow's passing prowess to that of Prescott given the comparison of the two is typically based on their running abilities. Narrowing the focus to Tebow's 2007 Heisman-winning season and Prescott's current Heisman-contending season, Tebow has the more impressive passing numbers through the same point in each season. He threw for three more touchdowns and three fewer interceptions than Prescott through nine games, while completing 67.7 percent of his passes.
