That's a great video, I cried when I watched the short version on TV. Connections with cars are strong with my family, as with many. My Dad drove a race car in the 50"s and again late 60's into the 70's. The 50's was on the dirt track
@UAgrad93 that was in what is now a pine forest behind the defunct car dealership where the 280 bypass begins in Sylacauga. A 1969 aerial still shows the oval. The 60's and 70's were at Dixie in Midfield, some BIR and also Sayre. Only Sayre remains. He raced against both Allisons, Farmer and Bonnett at Dixie. I have a wall of photos of his old cars, race cars and daily drivers.
I wish I stil had my '65 and '66 Chevy II Novas, my '66 Ford pickup with a 351, my '72 Chevy stepside and my '77 vette. All great cars over the years. I do still have one old car, a '65 Mustang, for which I plan to bootleg gasoline in 2075 to keep it running.
