🏈 No Bama game/sizing up the RS's

Since no game today, I decided to do a little research to get my Bama football fix and look at the likely redshirts this year. This far into the season, it would appear these members of the class of 2016 are being redshirted. I got my participation info from rolltide.com. I don't think I missed anyone, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Davis is the obvious surprise. With the hype coming in and the fact that Wilson was injured I figured their roles would be the exact opposite of what has played out.

That's right. Wilson had the surgeries before the season. Davis is/was healthy to my understanding

I don't think CNS or Davis wanted to waste a year to come in and play very little this season. Too many good players, upper class men ahead of him. Mac has played very little LB, a few snaps at FB and of course has played on special team. If Davis is as good as hyped, he should be in the thick of things next season.

I confused the two. I'd like to fully believe what footballer posted. He's going to have to come in and make that big impact next season.

Good post @EasyTider . Davis is my surprise to be redshirted. I thought he would defintely play but he's got some pretty good guys in front of him. Looking forward to seeing him play but next year, hopefully.

I was pretty convinced Ben Davis would be the hot shot freshman LB getting snaps, but Mack Wilson has not disappointed! Have a great feeling about Davis though, especially at a position of need the next few years.

As noted above Lashley is a large human being. Just can't have enough of those elite size talents. Really nice recruiting pick up in that class. I'd expect him to be in the mix at OT sooner than later.

Nott has a lot of potential and there will be holes to fill in the secondary. Lots of good DB's in this years freshman class so red shirting isn't a terrible thing. I love how aggressive he was on his HS tape... Hopefully he doesn't leave that behind at this level.

Last but not least, Quinnen Williams. DL is by far the biggest position need IMO and he's got a good chance to make moves next year. I thought he might sneak in the rotation this season but Pruitt is keeping the rotation pretty thin. Hopefully QW puts on weight ASAP and can contribute next season... Need a handful of guys to contribute when Allen/Tomlinson/Williams/Anderson leave.
