I know the hubris of Texan's would never allow them such a thought, but really makes you wonder how serious (none to little) he entertained the thought of going to Texas after Mack Brown was fired.
I much prefer these updates to "he was at death's door when he retired". You have to look around and see what you've grown and saved, and how you can be present in the lives of those who supported you throughout your career.
I hope he lives to a hundred, and he and DeBoer have a retirement round of golf together.
