šŸˆ Nick Saban on Alabama’s offseason: ā€˜We’re Full Metal Jacket’

You guys know I have not been a fan of our D performance as most of us have not been for years. I believe CNS has made the changes that will impact the on field results the most and that is at the coordinator positions. Somehow getting more balance but moslty discpline back will be key. 15+ penalties in a game? really? The team is not that far off if they simply fix the discipiline issues.

Hopefully they made the necessary changes in the strength and conditioning program… a lot of the frustrations of getting outmuscled and out physicaled cause those penalties…

You don’t honestly believe that’s how Carroll did it do you?????
Yes.. There was open competition on the field…They played whom ever was hot.. they didn’t beat people to death all game long…

Since NIL, the sport has become full of mercenaries (like hoops)..If you want to keep them.. you have to let them showcase their talents… if you don’t let these mercenaries showcase their talents, the word gets around…Then we no longer have the number one or close to the top recruiting classes…Very few people
Come to Alabama now because they love the schools or tradition… Now it’s all about $$$ and creation of value for themselves…

Funny to compare Pete Carroll's program and how he did it to CNS. Pretty sure CNS can hold his methods of getting results with anyone. No reason to believe he does not have his fingre on the pulse of todays kids and knows what needs to be done to stay competitive, attract great talend and develop it. Sure last years was subpar but I fully expect CNS to continue competing for a championship.

Agree. But wondered about keeping those assistants. Really had great talent with poorer results

I think he addressed those issues with the hires. My expectations anyway. I was perplexed by his loyalty to PG but I trusted he saw something I did not or felt there was something PG was providing that he needed. In the end did it give him the results he was looking for? To me no but I am not the GOAT either. I learned a long time ago there is more than one way to skin a cat so to speak. Was he playing to the strength of the players and coaches he had? I gotta think he was because he is no dummy. Still not satisfied with the on the field results. It do think he pivoted away from the physical balanced approach that won him a lot of games. I fully expect that to be corrected.

Like him or not Pete Carroll was a great coach…Nick saw that too…Last time I checked two of his assistants took Bama to new heights…
