Think about this for a second. I have a friend whose daughter was born on the 1st of January, 2007. She's currently a freshman at CoC.

We're literally talking about Saban coaching a different generation of kids than he was in '07.

Agree, different generation but I say don't coddle them and let the chips fall where they may. Let's be the team nobody wants to play again...

Have open competition every single day they practice… after every practice is over, name the official starter until the next day…stop all this over playing starters every game til the are completely exhausted or get hurt…get more reps for people to contribute… if a player is not giving his all during the game have someone you can plug-in that knows the position…. Stop the practice of Too many people with clean uniforms at the end of games….

It should work that way… To many good players not playing… Bama defense allowing comebacks late in games because starters are exhausted… i’ve seen many games, where if they would’ve just put fresh legs in rushing and pressuring the passer…they would’ve stopped a come back… with the talent they have sitting on the sidelines, Bama should be playing every position by committee…

Give us example of that. I don't remember Bama defense allowing comebacks late in games? How do you know a backup will stop opposing team on 3rd downs? Most of the mental errors I've seen last year were usually players with lack of experience.

How many games have you seen over the years where starters had their hands on there hips gasping for air in the 4th… Just because they are starters they get to stayon the field and cost us close games ….LSU comes to mind several times including 2022…When all they needed was a fresh defense lineman or two for pressure or to sack a tired qb…Do we have five and four stars with great talent on our sidelines OR NOT??… We let GOOD players sit there for years without any meaningful reps or playing time…For what?? loyalty to starters??… The whole team can win these games by committee with overwhelming depth… does that remind you of someone?!.. Bear Bryant maybe…

Then when players get injured… We plug in players that don’t know what in the hell they are doing… Why?… because they are sitting on the sidelines until late in the fourth quarter…Unless it is a close game, then they don’t see any playing time… Then fans get upset when they leave for other teams!…

Won’t win many games that way, starters need 90% of the reps to be ready for game day. If they split reps everyday you never have a true starter.
