šŸˆ Nick Saban gives thumbs-up to new playoff system

Nick Saban figures there's one certainty about the new college football playoff scenario.

There will be "a two-hour ESPN show on who got left out," he said.

That aside, Saban expressed his satisfaction with the playoff system in a brief media session Tuesday night prior to his speech at the Boys & Girls Club Leaders & Legends Dinner at the Von Braun Center.

"In 1997, I said we should have a plus-one or a four-team playoff because most of the years there are issues, it's when there are three (qualified) teams," he said. "People can't agree on who should be 1 and 2 and should play, and who gets left out. It happened when I was at LSU in 2003 and Southern Cal got left out."

Though there will be complaints from those left out, "if you look through history, you'd always get it right if you have a four-team playoff in terms of having a real good chance to get the best teams in the game," Saban said.
