Drake Nevis had a couple of nice plays against us in the LSU game, but he wasn't the story of the defense. Their story was based on us having to contain Nevis, then blitzing someone else right up the freakin' middle. You know, the way we USED to do when McClain/Cody were on the team. It's hard to replace a good nosetackle. Cody just took up space and demanded that you account for him. He could make a play if you left him unattended.
I'm not so concerned about that Auburn defense really. We can wear down defenses with a well-planned running game, knowing what we've got back there. Heck, line up a stupid wishbone and dare them to figure out what we're going to do. To me, we WANT their defense on the field the whole game, because that keeps the score down. We've got to chug-a-long for 3-4 yards per play, with a few big plays to mix it up. That's ball control offense, and that's the only thing, THE ONLY THING, that will beat $Cam Newton.
