Like I said in the other thread, it makes me absolutely sick at my stomach to see the SEC sit on their hands while CRAP like this goes on. How freaking pathetic. I mean I hated Kiffin...but as soon as he questioned referees the SEC wasted no time protecting their precious refs. But this THUG is going around FLAGRANTLY attempting to end people's careers with OBVIOUS dirty hits and not a DAMN peep out of Slive.

I HOPE he tries any of that crap in T-Town. Arbin has not played in a hostile environment all year. Unless you consider Ms State and Kentucky as hostile. Arbin should be proud of their "team" and all that they accomplish this year. I especially like Troopah coming onto the field during a fight and giving fairley "5" after he acted like a thug. The sad thing is that Scam does not give two sh*!s about arbin, and he will walk away while the plains are in flames. Trooper is a good guy, though. Keep him around your program for sure!

I'm not posting this because I'm expecting anything will happen, becasue nothing will... but there is a rule in place where something could. Instances such as Farily's actions in the UGA game, IMO, are why this rule was instituted in the first place. So that said...

Flagrant Personal Fouls (Rule 9-6). For 2009-10 the rules committee has added a new section that calls for conferences in the days following a game to review certain particularly dangerous plays. This new rule says that if a player is ejected for any flagrant personal foul the conference must review the game video for possible further action. In addition, if the officials call fouls for targeting defenseless players or using the crown of the helmet and the player is not ejected, the rules mandate a conference review. If the review by the conference reveals actions that should have resulted in a personal foul but were not called, the conference may impose sanctions.

Two problems with this ever affecting Fairley. 1. he wasn't ejected, 2. (and I might be wrong but) he wasn't called for "spearing" or leading with a helmet, he was called for a late hit. If the SEC has an out, they will exercise it.

Like I posted earlier, I'm sure the SEC office has seen the cut ups of the game with the plays in question. I didn't say that they were going to do anything about it. I imagine that the officiating crew that gets the game will be given a heads up as to #90s style of play and they will be quick to throw the laundry.

I would rather our players take care of Fairley on the field. If we are waiting on Slive to do something about it, we may be here awhile. I'm all for getting after it full speed, as I think the QB's are pampered a little at the next level. In college, however, these things usually "work themselves out" before it gets too far out of hand. I have no doubt that our players would never whine about Fairley playing "rough," so he bettter have his fat head on a swivel and hope we don't catch him playing dirty. My guess is that he knows he's being watched, so he'll dial it down a notch, but eventually, the punk will come out in his sorry ass. And we do know how to handle those.

Fairley wasnt trying to tackle Murray ( with the hit in the back )...he was trying to hurt him. As for the hit on McCoy from Dareus...no way in hell that was a cheap shot by any stretch, not even in the same league as Fairleys hit. McCoy was a ball runner while Murray was a motionless spectator when he got hit...Fairley is scum.

I'm starting to think the same as you guys: that Auburn is going to be protected this year. I'm sure much has been said about Bama over the years and how the SEC protects us...blah, blah. Perhaps we've been the beneficiary of some protective calls in the past, or no flag where one should have been thrown. What I want out of my officials is unbiased, consistency. Right or wrong on the call, be consistent, and without bias. Without those two things, what good are the refs at all?

The Iron Bowl is going to be down and dirty. Our guys WILL want this one more than last years' game. I don't think I'll ever see an explosion of force and built-up frustration like the 08 game, again in my lifetime. But I believe I'll see an Alabama team play the Barn as well as anyone has all year. IF the Tiggers win, they will know they had to work for it.

You might as well prepare for McElroy to be hit a few times during that game.Question is will he be able to stay focused and still make some plays down field. There's no way he'll be able to sit there looking for plays to develop down field. This is the game where Greg has to learn to throw it out of bounds rather then take the sack. Scary thing is, SEC officials are letting Fairley plow QB's after they've thrown the ball. He had so many late hits in that UGA game is was ridiculous. I figured Murray would have been injured before that game ended.

Like it was said earlier, double team him and see how it works out. I agree Fairley will be a problem for our offensive line, but I'm sure we can slow him down a little. I've noticed in several games he's easily winded. Who knows...anic:

How bout we run away from fairley to the OUTSIDE! The outside is the ONLY place we have shown to be able to run the ball. Run it wide and run it fast. No huddle. Fairley will be too winded to run his mouth.

For the most part, Duder's been reasonable about Fartley's play compared to his AU brothers. They're all saying the last hit wasn't intentional and that Mr. Clean playing playing Fartley wasn't able to stop his momentum. I guess he can't stop his momentum when he's hitting QB's in the back with the top of his helmet too. :headscratch:

our offensive line has not shown the tendency to get over powered this year.. what they have shown is confusion about blocking assignments.. i don't think fairely can just line up and over power us..
