🏈 Nick Bosa leaving OSU

Not sure how I feel about this one. I don't think his injury would heal enough for him to play again in 2018. Can he heal better outside of tOSU?

If we're being honest, he probably just didn't want to go to class anymore.

Now, he can concentrate on nothing but getting it better and then preparing for the draft. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending him. I think this is super lame and I'm sure his teammates don't appreciate it and I wouldn't even be surprised if some NFL teams didn't look at that and wonder if he will bail on them at some point, too. Just seems like you see this type of thing (transferring or quitting in the middle of the season) with either a) a team that really isn't "together" or b) just very selfish players.

I mean he just had surgery, so the likely hood of him coming back was likely slim but at the same time, there is a lot a player like that could contribute to his team whether it be just his knowledge of the game helping out with younger players, film study or support.

Well....maybe he see it as one chace to be financially fixed.....
While i can see that...dont getnot wanting to be part of NC run team...
But he could just not go to class n fail everything.....
Anyway...strange happenings in this strange world...

Like others have said he was never going to play this year anyway. I think it reflects more on the overall program and the coach than anything. Apparently the atmosphere is not one that he felt invested in enough to stay involved and be a part of the team. In his case I find it hard to think it is simply a money situation

Reports out of Columbus say he could not play any more games this year due to his injury and surgery. He will need a few more weeks to heal before starting to get ready for the NFL later next year. As a number 1 draft pick and probably a top 5 player to be drafted, I cant say that I blame him. Money is not a problem with his family hiring a personal trainer and making sure he is football ready when training camps open next July.

From the SI tweet above:

Nick Bosa, like his brother Joey, is a reverent student of Johnson, the OSU line coach. Johnson teaches his defensive ends to “flip their hips,” or point them toward the quarterback. The technique is one reason Joey has become an NFL star and Nick probably will be, too. But it makes it risky to play elite college football before this injury fully heals.
“The way he plays the game, the amount of torque and power he creates, when you have any little issue it’s going to be exposed,” John said.

Not being an expert in this at all, I wonder...Is this a technique that is coached at Alabama? Or does that even matter because this is a fluke injury?

Still believe there will be a stud junior soon that that shuts it down after his soph season. Can't see why not... Money talks

Can't ever see it being a good look when it does happen with a healthy player. Bosa was badly injured so nothing really noble or indicting about it.

Lots of guys have and will be quitting on their team towards the end of the year.... Just see that, much like everything else in today's world, being expedited by a dozen games or so

They already have, so not that surprising. The playoffs have done this to the bowl season. I haven't seen anyone take their junior year off to get in football shape. I believe Bosa was really hurt and I'm willing to assume he knew he couldn't get back and play at a high level. Otherwise, why would he quit on a team with a legitimate chance at a national championship? His brother Joey got his in 2014, I'm sure a lot of thought went into this.

A healthy draft status could be worth more to an elite prospect that a National Championship... Especially if someone was to already have one... ;)

Just saying, all it takes is an agent to get in mom/dad's ear and this could easily happen. So far you're certainly right... Just one of my crazy prognostications
